The 2010INFINITIFX35 carries 17 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2010 FX35 is electrical system with 4 filings, followed by unknown or other (3) and service brakes, hydraulic (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 7 investigation files overlapping the 2010 FX35. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I am the owner of a 2010 FX35 that started having problems in 2023 with just cutting off in the middle of driving. I took the vehicle to the dealership last year in which they told me the car required an update and the reprogrammed ECM and bumped up RPMS. I started having the issue again and was almost in an accident as the car cut off in traffic as was driving and lost the ability to steer the car. I took the car back to the dealership complaining of the same issue. I was told that Infiniti was aware of the problem and had issued a TSB but not a recall to repair this problem. This is a safety hazard that should be investigated and a recall should be issued to repair ASAP.
My vehicle gas fuel door opens electronically/automatically. Once motor is turned off, then you can push the door open and proceed to unscrew the gas cap and fuel the car. I recently found out that this simple process malfunctioned and I had to pay Infiniti to unlock the door, so I can fuel my car! To my "Disappointment" I was advised by Infiniti, that a little, tiny part {actuators that power mechanical devices (windows, sunroofs, seats, etc.)} is what's needed to resolve this issue, only it will cost me, out of pocket approximately $800, because the extended warranty, which I had at the time {car shield} does not cover it; even though, that may present a safety hazard for me should someone decides to put sugar, water or other substance into my gas tank, because I am now exposed and unprotected! Having a premium car with all the wonderful features, never bought me to focus upon a fuel door release, but now, I realized that Infiniti did not install and inside option to open the gas fue
The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti FX35. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, an abnormal banging sound was coming from the vehicle without warning. The contact was unaware of what caused the banging noise. The contact slammed on her brakes and the vehicle independently veered to the left. The contact notified the independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and discovered that the left torque arm had corroded and detached from the subframe. The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where she was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was repaired.

IN THE SEARCH OF A NEW DASHBOARD FOR MY 2010 INFINITI FX35 DUE TO A SPIDER WEB CRACKING MANUFACTURING ISSUE, I CAME ACROSS ANOTHER 2010 FX35 WITH THE EXACT SAME CRACK IN IDENTICAL SPOTS. I THOUGHT THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A COINCIDENCE. THE MAIN ISSUES ARE DASHBOARD CRACKING. DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER DEFECT, THIS LOWERS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE TREMENDOUSLY. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED COMPARISON PICS BELOW.

THE CAR LOCK AND IT WAS NOT ABLE TO GO IN GEAR BECAUSE THE AUTOMATIC STARTER MALFUNCTION. THE CAR WAS STIONARY.
ON SATURDAY, MAY 30, 2015, I EXPERIENCED THREE ANOMALIES WITH MY FX35, DURING TWO CYCLES (ENGINE OFF). THE WEATHER WAS FAIR, WITH PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND A TEMPERATURES IN THE HIGH SEVENTIES. AT ABOUT 10AM, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED IN THE GARAGE, IT HAD AN UNUSUALLY HIGH RPM WHICH I NOTICED AS IT WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE SO I COULD PULL OUT. I ALWAYS BACK MY VEHICLE INTO THE GARAGE, SO IT LUNGED FORWARD WITH A STRONG JERK. ALTHOUGH I THOUGHT THIS WAS ODD, I HEADED TO COSTCO IN STERLING VA AND HAD NO FURTHER PROBLEMS FOR THE TIME BEING. AFTER SHOPPING AT COSTCO, I STARTED THE VEHICLE AT AROUND 11:15AM AND HEADED HOME ON ROUTE 7 IN STERLING VIRGINIA. WHILE APPROACHING THE RED TRAFFIC LIGHT IN FRONT OF THE NOVA CAMPUS, I APPLIED THE BRAKE. THERE WERE AUTOS IN ALL FOUR LANES, SEVERAL DEEP, IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. AS I WAS PERHAPS 10 CAR LENGTHS AWAY AND DECELERATING, THE VEHICLE ENGINE BEGAN TO INCREASE IN RPM. I HAD TO USE MY LEFT FOOT AND RIGHT FOOT TO APPLY MAXIMUM PRESSUR

BOTH SUN VISORS HAVE MIRRORS WITH LIGHT WHEN COVER IS OPENED. THE DRIVER SIDE LAMP FOR THE SUN VISOR STOPPED WORKING. IT CREATED A SHORT INSIDE THE SUN VISOR POSSIBLE FROM THE OPTION OF BEING ABLE TO EXTEND THE SUN VISOR ARM BACK AND FORTH TO BLOCK SUN FROM THE SIDE. THE WIRES INSIDE MAY HAVE WORE OUT OR SOMEHOW GOT CONNECTED. THIS CREATED A SHORT IN THE SYSTEM AND FUSE UNDER ROOM LAMP WHICH CONTROLS INTERIOR LAMPS, DRIVER SEAT AND SOME OTHER LIGHTING BLOW OUT. COMPLETE DRIVER SIDE SUNVISOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO STOP SHORT IN THE SYSTEM. *TR

I PROCEEDED TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE AND MY BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE CAR. I WENT APPROXIMATELY 3 FEET BEFORE THE CAR STOPPED AFTER I PRESSED THE BRAKES. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 3-5 MILES PER HOUR, SINCE I WAS ABOUT TO PULL IN A PARKING SPACE. I NEARLY CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
