VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULES (PCM) WERE INSTALLED IN SOME VEHICLES. THE IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED PCMS CONTAINED A CONDENSER THAT WAS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED ONTO THE PCM PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. THE INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE CONDENS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HYUNDAI XG300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A PASSENGER OPENED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FROM THE INTERIOR AND CUT THEIR HAND ON THE DOOR HANDLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE METAL ON ALL FOUR OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES WERE PEELING ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 127,000.

DT: THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THIS VEHICLE WENT INTO AN EMBANKMENT AND ROLLED OVER. HE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS DAMAGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HE CONTACT SUSTAINED CUTS TO HIS BACK. *AK
