Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2024 PALISADE is service brakes with 205 filings, followed by forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking (40) and unknown or other (26). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 5 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2024 PALISADE. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Approximately 4 months after purchasing our 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy we started experiencing a serious steering issue. When driving slow while making turns, either right or left whether going forward or reverse the steering wheel intermittently abruptly stops mid turn and locks with a big bang. It forces me to apply the breaks because I cannot complete the turn. After about 10-15 secs the steering wheel releases with a loud pop, and spins the opposite direction in which Iâm trying to turn, leaving the wheels one way and the steering the other. At that point Iâm able to regain control of the steering wheel and continue my turn and start driving but on many occasions it has caused me to almost be T-boned by other vehicles when this happens at an intersection or or hit from behind. We have taken the Vehicle to 3 different Hyundai service centers in 2 different states in the last 23 months. All claim theyâre not able to replicate the issue and to bring it back if it continue
The contactâs employer owns a 2024 Hyundai Palisade. The employer received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V607000 (Seat Belts); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and informed that the owner that parts were on backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were on backorder. The owner had not experienced a failure.
Sub-freezing temperatures caused car not be able to start. The battery in this vehicle is less than 3 years old as it was purchased in October of 2023. It displayed a "Check ESC" message, flashed all the lights and I could not hear the engine crank / turn over at all.
I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving the driverâs seat belt buckle in my vehicle. While driving, the driverâs seat belt buckle failed. Specifically, the buckle un latched and it was then unable to re-latch after that. Making it impossible to be securely buckled while driving. There was no previous warning that the seat belt would fail. This occurred while the vehicle was in operation and created a significant safety risk. The failure of a primary safety restraint is extremely concerning, as it compromises the driverâs ability to operate the vehicle safely and increases the risk of serious injury in the event of a collision. This issue appears to be a defect in the seat belt buckle mechanism, not the result of misuse.
1. On several occasions while braking over uneven surfaces, the vehicle would not come to a complete stop, the brake pedals and steering wheel shook violently, and the vehicle continued to propel forward although I had the brakes engaged. This almost caused me to collide with other vehicles. The dealership could not replicate the issue and said it was a normal response. No, that is wrong; This is abnormal and dangerous. But at any rate, there was a safety recall recently to address the same issue that I have been complaining about so I hope it fixes the problem 2. Also, the paint on the roof rails and the door handles are flaking off. The coating and paint on the roof rails is splotchy, rough, and uneven, and the door handles continue to peel horribly. The dealership said corporate and parts denied my warranty request deeming the issue as normal wear and tear when the dealership said it was a paint and workmanship defect. No new vehicle should be losing its paint like this. Me simpl

Hyundai Palisade fails to shift gears from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd coming from a stop. Engine RPMS continuously shoots up until I put it in park causing a very unsafe environment since I had would be forced to stop in moving traffic. Brought car to Hyundai dealership and upon inspection they found internal transmission failure where they removed and replaced with a refurbished transmission. This also causes some concern and have noticed already replication of this issue.
I just purchased the new 2024 Palisade. We were traveling about 15-20 mph when approaching a stop sign when I pressed the brakes the ABS braking system went on and I could not stop the car. The car seemed to learch forward while the ABS braking was going on and the car did not stop in time and we traveled into the middle of the intersection. Good thing the driver coming from the cross street slammed on his brakes and did not hit us. The road we were traveling on was a little rough and bumpy at the point the ABS engaged when I was breaking. The braking after the incident seemed to be normal operation.

Automatic emergency braking. Vehicle has had several instances of slaming on brakes for no reason. Last time we were traveling about 35 miles per hour with a vehicle traveling behind us when system slammed on brakes locking them up and bringing us to a complete stop. We were traveling in the dark, in a rough road in a construction zone. No warnings lamps or messages. Scared us very bad. We are having the vehicle checked the next time we have in for service. Seat belts not fixed as of last service 10/25/25, per dealer no remedy available at this time.

Dealer advised us to continue driving with a defective seatbelt. Hyundai Customer Care disconnected the call when we attempted to discuss the safety risk and did not offer a loaner or temporary vehicle. Parts unavailable for months.
ABS system activated when I hit a bump of any kind and I'm slowing down, like a speed bump, a 1/2"edge on my curb as I enter my driveway a little faster than usual. Or exit a long drive at that is dry and lower than the sidewalk and tires flyi over the edge of sidewalk and it activates pumping the brages repeatedly. Dates have been recent and a while ago. 11-25-25 and I don't have exact dates but probably 2 months ago and 4 months ago and 6 months ago and even 1 year ago. I took to the dealer but they said they couldn't recreate it so the couldn't fix anything. That was early on. I thought I was going to hit my garage door because it prevented me from stopping faster. It disengages my ability to use the brakes. They don't activate when being slammed on just when the road is rough. I looked in forums and many others have this issue. Please got it I hate it and it makes me want to return the vehicle because I don't feel safe when it happens.
During a routine inspection at Ron Marhofer Hyundai in Akron, OH on November 22, 2025, the technician reported that both the front and rear brake caliper brackets on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade were âcaliper bracket dry.â The inspection sheet also included the following warning from the dealership: âIf not replaced, the brake caliper will fail, causing a dangerous condition where either the vehicle will not stop or will pull severely to one side when it does.â This was found on a 17-month-old vehicle with about 33,540 miles. Brake caliper slide pins and brackets should not be completely dry on a vehicle this new unless something was defective in the lubrication, assembly, or materials. The dealership confirmed the condition, provided photos, and gave a repair estimate. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the case was escalated several times, but Hyundai ultimately declined to cover the repair, even with the dealerâs written statement that the calipers may fail and the ve
There has been several occasions where I am coming up to a corner or to a stop light and when I brake and, there is an area of 'washboard' or pot holes, the brakes stop working. I took the vehicle into the dealership (7/24/2025) and told them about the breaking issue and they were able to replicate the issue, but they do not have a fix for it. It is very disconcerting when this happens and the car doesn't stop right away.
[XXX] stalling in the middle of the street multiple times with kids in the car on the highway INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
When driving over bumps, potholes, or railroad tracks with the breaks being pressed, the brakes would pulsate and causing vehicle to stop at a further distance. Due to taking longer time to slow down and stop, I almost hit another vehicle in front of me.
