Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 ACCENT is air bags with 26 filings, followed by engine (19) and unknown or other (9). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 37 investigation files overlapping the 2015 ACCENT, and 1 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

My 2015 Hyundai accent started having problems with oil consumption around 65000 miles. I got it checked regularly and the mechanic noticed it after it was having issues accelerating and losing power then cutting off completely. I had to constantly check oil each week or sooner. A couple months later it started losing power on high way and there was a clicking/ticking coming from engine. I pulled over and cut it off. Then drove it slowly (under 30 mph) to car store down the road to add oil but it was fine. Was able to get back home on back roads going slowly. Mechanic told me there oil consumption was a problem with these types of cars and likely causing engine problems. The whole time I had problems the check engine, battery, and oil light would constantly come on and go off. When they hooked it up to see why check engine light was on there were about 15 different codes. One of them being the Variable Valve Solenoid which I ended up replacing both first but still had problems. It woul

Around the middle of May 2024 I received a recall notice #23V651000. I made an appointment for approximately 2 weeks on June 5. When I arrived I was told the part was never ordered. Coconut Creek Hyundai said they would order the part and call me in a few days. After not hearing for 2 weeks I went back to Hyundai and was told the part hadn’t come in and to go home and they would call me in a few days. After several more weeks I went back and was told the part still hadn’t arrived. It was about a month and a half and still no part. The service manager told me that Hyundai USA was placing a low priority on my model car and manufacturing that part last after all the other models. It’s now 4 months later and I have never received any call from Coconut Creek Hyundai. When this first happened I contacted both Coconut Creek Hyundai and Hyundai USA. Hyundai USA said they couldn’t interfere with the local dealer even though it’s a Federal Safety Recall! Hyundai Coconut Creek basically

My 2015 Hyundai Accent started having issues with oil consumption at about 80,000 miles or so. I was having to check and add oil to the vehicle regularly in addition to oil changes. The oil consumption issue got worse as the vehicle got higher in miles, having to check and add oil every 600-1000 miles approximately. I was not aware of the known issue with Hyundai motors and the oil consumption so I was not tracking milage or dates of adding oil unfortunately. At about 100,135 miles, the vehicle suddenly broke down on my way to work. There was no warning other than the oil consumption problem. The car RPMs got very high and the car started decelerating until it wouldn't go forward anymore and was stalled on the side of the road. I had the vehicle towed to a Hyundai dealership and at this time it waiting for the diagnosis, however, they are sure that the head gasket has to be removed (for $500) to get that diagnosis. On [XXX] the engine in my 2015 Hyundai Accent suddenly failed while traveling on [XXX] near Milesburg, PA. While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle completely stopped. It was able to be coasted to the side of the roadway, but was unable to be driven after that. It was towed back to South Williamsport to Steve Shannon's garage (where it still sits). After inspection by the mechanics it was noted that there was a hole through the engine (not from puncture) to where they were able to watch the pistons moving from underneath. There were no warnings or issues prior to this event. This event put my brother, sister in law and two toddler nephews in danger as they sat on the side of [XXX] waiting an hour for me to get there to pick them up, as they were borrowing my vehicle to take a family trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo. I believe the speed limit in that area is 65mph. Therefore, traffic (to include semi-trucks) were traveling at least 65mph passing the vehicle and my family on the side of the

I have a 2015 Hyundai accent with the 1.6l engine and have had to put on 3 catalytic converters in less than a year. The last one only lasting 1 month. I have taken it to a shop and had all repairs done there as well as having spark plugs changed and had the sensors replaced.

Once my 2015 Hyundai Accent reached 80K the airbag light came on. I took into the dealership for them to look into and found that the passenger side air bag sensor failed and needed replaced. Cost of new sensor was $1000.00. Did some research on the issue and found that air bag sensors are failing on the passenger side for many Hyundai Accent owners. I believe some reported to this very agency. I plan on having the sensor replaced, however wanted to report the issue and the amount of reports on forums and reports to the NHTSA in hopes that it will be recalled so that future Hyundai Accent owners can be aware of the issue and protect their passengers.
