Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2006 H2 SUT is engine and engine cooling:exhaust system with 1 filings, followed by engine and engine cooling:exhaust system:manifold/header/muffler/tail pipe (1) and electrical system (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2006 H2 SUT. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20131029ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OUT. TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE AND THEY PULLED UP THE CODE PO442, EVAP LEAK. THEY DID A SMOKE TEST AND FOUND OUT THE FUEL PUMP UNIT WAS ALL RUSTED OUT AND ALSO THE STRAPS HOLDING THE FUEL TANK IN WAS ALL RUSTED OUT. ONE OF THE STRAPS WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF AND ONLY ONE WAS HOLDING THE TANK BUT IT WAS ALL RUSTED. CALLED A DEALER BECAUSE THIS PART SHOULD HAVE AN 80,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT THEY SAID IT WAS UNDER POWERTRAIN AND IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED. HOW COULD THIS BE POWERTRAIN WHEN IT WAS AN EMISSIONS ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE. IT PROBABLY COULD OF CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2006 WITH 65000 MILES ON IT SO HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN. *TR

AT FIRST THE WASHERS JUST KEPT SPRAYING AND WOULDN'T STOP. I HAD TO TAKE OUT THE FUSE TO GET IT TO STOP. I RECENTLY PUT THE FUSE BACK IN AND NOW IT WON'T WORK. THE WASHERS WILL JUST START SPRAYING OUT OF THE BLUE AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND YOU CAN'T GET IT TO STOP. IT DECREASES YOUR VISIBILITY. I HAVE READ THAT THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVE ALOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ALSO THE HEATING UNIT ON MY DRIVER SEAT RANDOMLY COMES ON BY ITSELF AND WON'T SHUT OFF. I BOUGHT THIS HUMMER USED AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES BUT I WONDER IF I SHOULD OF. THIS IS DANGEROUS ISSUES. *TR
