EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:SWITCH
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A DAMAGED CONNECTOR IN THE HANDLEBAR MOUNTED HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY CAUSE THE HEADLIGHT TO FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY FAIL.
BOUGHT THE SHADOW AND NOTICED THE PETCOCK WAS LEAKING WHEN TURNED ON. I BOUGHT A FACTORY PETCOCK FROM HONDA AND INSTALLED IT. NOW NOT A FEW MONTHS LATER THE EXACT SAME THING. IT IS A FAULTY DIAPHRAGM THAT CAUSES GAS TO LEAK ONTO A HOT ENGINE BLOCK. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND SET RIGHT BY THE DEALERS. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. 1- IT'S LEAKING GAS, THAT'S A PRETTY PENNY NOWADAYS, 2- IT'S AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD IF GAS IS LEAKING ALL OVER THE GROUND,3- IT'S A FIRE HAZARD FOR THE RIDER AND PEOPLE AROUND SHOULD THE BIKE DECIDE TO COMBUST, 4- IT IS NOT A RARE PROBLEM LOOK AT ANY 2004 AND UP SAME PROBLEMS, 5- THE DEALERS ARE SELLING THE SAME FAULTY PARTS, ALL IN ALL THERE IS NO FIX. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM IN MANY RESPECTS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA VT750C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE REAR BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE DRIVER HAD TO MANUALLY PULL THE LEVER FOR THE FRONT BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FRACTURED AND HAD CAUSED THE REAR BRAKES TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED TO SEND THE CONTACT A NEW PART FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA SHADOW AERO VT750C MOTORCYCLE. THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE WAS STATIONARY. HE ALSO, OBSERVED A LARGE AMOUNT OF FUEL NEAR THE FUEL TANK . THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MOTORCYCLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION AT THIS TIME. THE MOTORCYCLE IS NOT BEING DRIVEN DUE TO THE CONCERN OF A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE A 2006 HONDA SHADOW AERO 750CC MOTORCYCLE. SOMETIME WHEN I START IT UP IT WILL RUN FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN CUT OFF AND WILL NOT START BACK. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES NOW IN THE LAST YEAR. ONCE WHILE I WAS ON THE ROAD DRIVING AND 3 TIMES WHILE I HAVE HAD THE BIKE RUNNING TO WARM UP. I LET IT SET FOR AWHILE ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO AND IT WILL START BACK UP AND RUN GOOD. I KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON SOME OF THE PETCOCKS ON OUR BIKES. I HAVE TAKEN THE VIN # TO THE DEALER AND HAD THEM CHECK TO SEE IF MINE WAS ONE OF THE ONES ON RECALL. THEY HAVE SAID NO. I HAVE TAKEN THE PETCOCK OFF AND TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK IT AND THEY HAVE STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO BECAUSE IT IS NOT ONE ON RECALL. IT IS NOT DRIPPING OR LEAKING. I AM IN A FORUM WHERE WE ALL HAVE THE SAME BIKES AND QUITE A FEW OF US ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AND IT IS ALL TRACED BACK TO THE PETCOCK.
