CAUSED BY REAR CALIPER BRAKE SEIZING AND OVERHEATING FLUID. LOST BRAKE FLUID AND MINOR FIRE. SUSPECT SECONDARY MASTER CYLINDER SEIZED CAUSING REAR CALIPER TO SEIZE CAUSING BRAKE FLUID TO BOIL AND BLOW OFF REAR BRAKE HOSE. BIKE WOULD NOT MOVE. COLLIER COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES STOPPED TO CHECK. AFTER COOLING OFF REAR BRAKE RELEASED. LIMPED HOME WITH ONLY FRONT BRAKES. MOTORCYCLE TOWED ON TRAILER TO FLORIDA MOTORSPORTS, NAPLES, FL. TALKED TO RANDY AT HONDA AMERICA CUSTOMER SERVICE. STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM DEALER OR HONDA AMERICA.

THE VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP WHEN IT REACHED BELOW 10 MPH (AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT). IT BECAME DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND HAD TO BE TOWED BACK HOME. THE LOCAL DEALER IS LOOKING INTO THE SITUATION AND DISCUSSING THE ISSUE WITH HONDA. MAKE: HONDA MODEL: GL1800 MODEL YEAR: 2007 MANUFACTURER: HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ST1300 EQUIPPED WITH DUNLOP ROADSMART TIRES, SIZE P125/70/R18, DOT#DKCJ011M0808. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT BLISTERS AND TREAD SEPARATION ON THE TIRES MADE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WHO REFERRED HIM TO THE AN AUTHORIZED VEHICLE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO HANDLE THE TIRE FAILURE UNTIL THEY WERE INSPECTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,500.
