I PURCHASED A TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM THAT WAS MADE BY TIREGARD (HTTP://WINGSTUFF.COM/PGROUP_DETAIL/40_HOME_MONTHLY_SPECIALS/23662_SHOW_CHROME_TIREGARD_TIRE_AIR_PRESSURE_MONITOR/) THIS IS A WIRELESS SYSTEM WHICH CONSISTS OF TWO SENSORS THAT ARE SCREWED ONTO TO THE TIRE'S VALVE STEM TO MONITOR THE INTERNAL AIR PRESSURE. MY INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE RIDING MY MOTORCYCLE ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROX 70 MPH WHEN THE FRONT VALVE STEM TORE RESULTING IN A RAPID LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE AND A FLAT TIRE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT BUT WAS RECENTLY CONTACTED BY ANOTHER MOTORCYCLIST WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME TYPE OF FAILURE. ALTHOUGH I REALLY LIKE THIS SYSTEM, METAL VALVE STEMS SHOULD BE REQUIRED.
