Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2007 S2000 is service brakes, hydraulic:foundation components:disc:rotor with 1 filings, followed by fuel system, gasoline (1) and power train:clutch assembly (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 77 investigation files overlapping the 2007 S2000, and 9 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. I HAD MY MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED WHEN MY CAR WAS AT 40,000 MILES IN THE CLUTCH. NOW AT 68,777 MILES THE CLUTCH HAS SOMETHING WRONG BUT STILL SHIFTS INTO GEAR AT THIS POINT. NOW THEY ARE GUESSING THAT THE CLUTCH FORK IS WEARING OUT WHICH IS OVER $2,000.00 TO REPLACE. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY ANOTHER MECHANIC THAT MY MASTER CYLINDER DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A HONDA PART. I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE TO HAVE THIS REPLACED RIGHT NOW SO I WAS TOLD I COULD DRIVE IT BY HONDA. IF IT GOES OUT ON THE FREEWAY I WON'T BE ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS. MY CAR IS NOT BEEN DRIVING HARD AND IT'S WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND SERVICED PROPERLY ALONG WITH BEING GARAGED ALWAYS. I PUT AROUND 8,000 MILES A YEAR ON IT AND I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IT WELL. I DON'T RACE IT OR SPEED SHIFT EVER. I FEEL THAT THIS CAR HAS FAULTY PARTS IN THE CLUTCH AND PLATES ALONG WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER. I'M NOT A MECHANIC BUT I DO KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT CARS AND DID MY RESEARCH ON HONDA'S. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVE LONG TIME RUNNING CARS. I EVEN TOOK OUT A 7 YEAR WARRA
