The contact owned a 2001 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, she was blinded by sun glare and crashed into the back of a maintenance trailer. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact had sustained a mild head injury. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number:Â 20V027000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
TAKATA RECALL IN JANUARY, 2014, I LEFT THE ROAD TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR, HIT A DEER-CROSSING SIGN WHICH THEN DEPLOYED THE DRIVERS AIRBAG. THE AIRBAG BLASTED OUT TO THE RIGHT OF THE STEERING WHEEL THUS HITTING MY RIGHT ARM. MY RIGHT ARM WAS BROKEN AND REQUIRED SURGERY TO REPAIR. 2 TITANIUM PLATES AND 15 SCREWS. BLACK CLOUD OF WHAT MUST HAVE BEEN A PROPELLANT WAS PUMPED INTO MY FACE AND UPPER BODY. THE SKIN ON MY RIGHT HAND PEELED 4 TIMES.
