My bike died when I was in the fast lane on a major freeway, during Memorial Day rush hour. Totally stalled with 3 lanes of traffic moving at 70 mph. Only luck saved me from being collected by 18 wheelers. American Honda Motor Co. issued a recall on the Africa Twin Adventure Sports models for a fuel filter issue. 2,690 bikes are affected by the recall officially issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Thias recall was preformed last year but the cause of the issue (the improperly wielded gas tank) was not addressed The gas tank has an internal weld that was performed incorrectly and it flakes debris metal tha clogs fuel intake system. (Honda has since updated the process to avoid this know issue) Their band-aid fix is to drain the tank and replace the filer but not replace the tank that is causing the problem.
