Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 77 investigation files overlapping the 2019 CIVIC TYPE R, and 9 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Honda has sent this recall notice in Feb 2024 and again in Jan 2025. I am unable to get it fixed and remedy. I am getting the run around that parts are not available. I called back in Oct 2024 and was put on a wait list. I called again 2/6/2025 and was told the same thing. I am trying to be proactive before the fuel pump goes out and be left stranded on the road. In addition, CA dmv are stating that they will not renew my registration without this recall being fixed. My registration is due soon in April.

While driving on the freeway at 70 mph, my car started sputtering and out of instinct I placed the gear into neutral. Shortly after doing that the car died while moving. I tried a rolling/moving restart on the car by placing it in 6th gear, hold the clutch in and restart the ignition with no luck. Coasted the car to the nearest freeway exit and into a parking lot. If the car would have died while still in gear, the outcome wouldâve been catastrophic especially on a busy freeway. I was lucky enough that there wasnât too many cars in the left lane. After trying to restart the car multiple times in the parking lot, I called for tow of the vehicle back to my resident then to a shop a couple days later. The car showed a Rev Match System and Emissions System Problem messages with a check engine light. The shop diagnostic showed a P0087 fault code which led them to troubleshoot the fuel system. We checked fuses and relay circuits, removed the back seat for fuel pump access, checked the fu
