The 2007HONDACIVIC SI carries 8 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 2 crashes, 0 fires, 0 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2007 CIVIC SI is air bags with 4 filings, followed by steering (1) and unknown or other (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.
NHTSA currently has 77 investigation files overlapping the 2007 CIVIC SI, and 9 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. ENGINE BLOCK CRACKED AND LEAKING COOLANT.
Mileage: 220,000
I HAD AN ISSUE WHERE THE BRAKES DIDN'T STOP THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS MOVING AROUND 40 MPH. AS IF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM IS ACTIVATING TO EARLY WHEN THE BRAKES ARE LIGHTLY DEPRESSED. DEPRESSING THE BRAKE FURTHER DID NOT INCREASE BRAKING FORCE. I HAD TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION BY RUNNING OFF THE ROAD INTO AN EMBANKMENT. I HAVE FOUND SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE WHERE PEOPLE REPORTED THIS IS FROM A VSA, ABS, TCS MODULATOR THAT IS FAULTY. THIS SYSTEM SHOULD HAVE A FAIL-SAFE DESIGN NOT A FAIL-ARMING TYPE SYSTEM. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THAT IT DOES NOT! I ASKED A CO-WORKER WHO HAS A NEWER MODEL HONDA CIVIC AND SHE SAID THIS ISSUE HAS STARTED WITH HER CAR AS WELL.

TOOK THE CAR FOR RECALL AIRBAG . 1 MONTH PASS AND THE PASSENGERS AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON
ENGINE BLOCK CRACK
NOT SURE IF THIS IS PART OF TAKATA RECALL. WAS DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPG THROUGH A CVS PARKING LOT WHEN MY DRIVERS SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG WENT OFF IN MY FACE WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING FORCING ME TO SWERVE TO THE RIGHT AND HIT THE CURB AND POP MY TIRE AS WELL AS PULL THE FENDER LINER OFF.
Mileage: 72,000
GOING DOWN THE ROAD IT WILL, WITH OUT WARNING, AUTOMATICALLY TURNS THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT. IT'S THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. IT GOT ALOT WORSE. NOW IT WILL TURN THE STEERING WHEN I START THE CAR. THERE IS NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIKE CHECK ENGINE. IT HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. TURNING ALSO WAS HARD. IT WOULD STICK OR BE HARD TO STEER THEN WOULD FIGHT THE WAY YOU WANTED TO GO. HONDA HAS A OPEN CAMPAIGN ABOUT THIS PART THAT IS BAD FOR 150,000 OR 10 YEARS. BUT MY CAR HAS 94,000 AND JUST OVER 10 YEARS AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS!

TAKATA INFLATORS WHEN I DRIVE THE HONDA CIVIC SI THE LIGHT OF THE AIRBAG IS ON ALMOS ALL THE TIME
Mileage: 52,000
I HAVE THIS AIRBAG LIGHT ON WITH INTERMITTENT ON/OFF FOR SOME TIME AND NOW IS CONSTANTLY ON. THE PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON ALSO, WHICH I BELIEVE IT'S MORE CRITICAL, IS THAT IT'S NOT SENSING ANY PERSON SEATING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT AND NOT DETECTING SEAT BELT NOT CLICK ON AND AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY ON PASSENGER SIDE IF THERE IS A CRASH. HONDA IS ASKING ME TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE SEAT FOR $ 2,600 (IF I WERE TO TRADE MY CAR FOR A NEW ONE THEY PROBABLY DON'T GIVE ME NOT EVEN $ 5,000 FOR MY CAR. I'LL WAIT WHEN THIS PROBLEM IS COVERED BY A RECALL. HOPE THIS COMPLAIN HELPS TO SPEED IT UP.
