New Car Assessment Program

The 2023HONDAACCORD carries 112 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 8 crashes, 0 fires, 6 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 ACCORD is electrical system with 15 filings, followed by forward collision avoidance: automatic emergency braking (13) and service brakes (13). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 5 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 11 investigation files overlapping the 2023 ACCORD, and 2 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

It is my understanding Honda issued a extended warranty on the air conditioning condenser for its Accord models from 2018-2022. I have a 2023 Accord and the exact same issue has happened on my car. Similar to the earlier problems with fuel pumps where a partial recall was extended to the same model built in later years, I am suggesting Honda needs to repeat the extended warranty to include 2023 models. I am bringing this issue to your attention in case others are having the same experience.

I was driving on the Freeway doing about 65 to 70 MPH and all of a sudden on the Dashboard a large orange brake light came on and the vehicle hit the brakes automatically almost causing an accident. I took it to the dealership and all they did was reset some computer board but said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. If they couldn’t find anything wrong with the vehicle then why reset the computer board.

To Whom It May Concern, My 2023 Honda Accord (VIN: <Fill in red: VIN [XXX] >) has been disabled since January 27, 2026 due to a fuel system failure. The dealership falsely claimed diesel contamination, which I deny. Despite escalation to Honda executives and NJ Lemon Law action, the vehicle remains unsafe and unusable. MY CAR HAS A HOLE IN THE MOTOR, THE THROW ROD SHOT OUT OF IT. THE DEALERSHIP CLASSIC HONDA REFUSED TO DO ANY REAL INVESTIGATION AND IS RELYING SOLELY ON THE DIPSTICK READING. THIS CLEARLY VIOLATES ME IN PLENTY OF WAYS THIS IS WHAT I SENT THEM. I am formally escalating this matter and requesting immediate supervisory review and intervention regarding the inspection and handling of my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid. The dealership is relying solely on a dipstick reading taken from an engine with a breached engine block. Once the engine block is compromised, the crankcase is no longer sealed, and oil redistributes into different internal cavities and passages. Under these conditions, a dipstick reading is not a reliable or valid method to determine pre-failure oil quantity or causation. I specifically requested that the oil pan drain plug be removed so the oil could be measured directly, which would provide an accurate and objective assessment of oil quantity. This request was refused. I

Rear camber is set way to aggressive and wearing out the inside of tires VERY QUICKLY!! According to 2 different shops they have adjusted the camber as far as the factory part will allow with the only option is to buy a aftermarket camber arm to get more adjustment. I am on my 3rd set of tires with only 57000 miles. I went father then i should have on replacing the worn (inside of tire past the metal wire) without knowing it was that bad. Could have had a very serios blowout on rear. Dealer ship said none of this would be covered under warranty!! the wear started form the get go and might can get the 1st alignment information from the shop that performed the alignment. Other individuals I know they have accords and civics in the 23 and newer are having simular issues!! Pics in file are both rear tires that had been rotated 3 times in aprox 20k and alignment checked.

No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not identified, and an oil change was performed. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer for a second opinion. The local dealer filed a claim with the manufacturer for the failure and related the issue to TSB: 24-055. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, the claim was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

I was driving down the freeway and all of a sudden there was a spontaneous, loud-bang, and explosion-like shattering of my moonroof/sunroof. I didn't know what happened initially but heard glass shards sliding around the roof. I slid the cover slightly open and could see the shattered glass. I drove home and discovered a hole in the glass. Im attaching pictures of what I saw. I got home and searched online to see if anyone else has experienced this and found several articles referencing 2023 Honda Accord's and this issue. Including some class action law suits against Honda.

My vehicle has an open safety recall 25V785 related to improper software programming of the Integrated Control Module CPU, which can cause loss of drive power while driving. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Tempe Honda dealer (8030 South Autoplex Loop, Tempe, AZ 85284) to have the recall completed. The dealer confirmed the recall is a software ICM update, but refused to perform the recall unless I paid approximately $981 plus tax to replace the original OEM audio head unit. The dealer stated that over-the-air infotainment updates were previously declined and claimed this prevents completion of the safety recall. The recall was not completed. The vehicle remains unrepaired for a known safety defect that can result in loss of drive power while in operation. Dealer refusal was documented in writing.

To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint to report a serious vehicle safety issue involving a Honda vehicle that was under a lease agreement. From the start of the lease, the vehicle suffered from repeated malfunctions of its safety and proximity sensors. These issues were reported, and the vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Honda dealership. Despite these efforts, the problem was never resolved. I later discovered that the vehicle had an active safety recall that was never disclosed to me, even though the vehicle had been serviced at the dealership on several occasions. This failure to inform me of a recall represents a significant safety concern. Subsequently, the vehicle was involved in an accident that resulted in a total loss. I firmly believe that the unresolved sensor failures and the lack of recall disclosure played a role in this incident. I am submitting this report so that NHTSA may investigate this matter and determine whether there is a br
