ON CERTAIN PICKUP AND UTILITY TRUCKS, SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN AIR BAG SENSING DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM) WHICH CONTAINS AN ANOMALY THAT COULD RESULT IN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S AIR BAG FAILING TO DEPLOY DURING CERTAIN FRONTAL CRASHES.
Tire Size: 265 70 16. While driving on a straight and level highway, the right rear tire sidewall completely shredded. Tire lost all air pressure and separated from the rim. I bought four General Grabber tires in July 2021. This is the second tire that the sidewall shredded. The first one shredded on the left rear side in July of 2024. There are a lot of General Grabber tires being recalled for over-cured sidewalls but it's strange that there are no recalls on this particular tire.

WAS ABLE TO GET TRUCK TO TRUSTED MECHANIC, WHO DETERMINED EVERY INCH OF BRAKE LINE FROM ABS BOOSTER TO ALL FOUR WHEELS BADLY CORRODED, LIKE PAPER. LINE WAS PERFORATED OVER REAR AXLE CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID, ALL HYDRAULIC PRESSURE AND NO BRAKING ABILITY. MECHANIC IS CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC WITH OVER 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE, SAID HAS NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE EVEN IN ANTIQUE OR ABANDONED VEHICLES. *TT

I LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM ON WEB AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A ODI NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V005000 THAT ADDRESSED THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED GM THEY INDICATED THAT THE CAR VIN WAS NOT IN THE RANGE FOR THE RECALL. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO GM TO GET IT FIXED THEY INDICATED THAT FAILURE WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS DESCRIBED IN THE REPORT 05V005000. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND NOT MY WIFE. I HAD MY 13 MONTH SON IN THE CAR AND THIS FAILURE COULD OF CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I DID HURT MY NECK WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED TRYING TO CONTROL AND STEER THE CAR. FOR THE SAKE OF OTHER FAMILIES DRIVING 2000 YUKONS THIS RECALL 05V005000 SHOULD BE BROADEN TO INCLUDE MORE YULON 2000 CARS THAT WERE PRODUCED IN THAT YEAR BEFORE SOMEBODY ELSE GETS HURT. *TR

GMC YUKON 2000 AND ABOVE MODELS. TAIL GATE WINDOW INSTALLATION. WINDOW IS ATTACHED TO VEHICLE WITH PLASTIC FASTENERS WHICH TEND TO BREAK AND CAUSE THE WINDOW TO COME SEPARATED FROM THE WINDOW FRAME. THE WINDOW IS THEN ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE PRIMARILY BY THE WINDOW LOCK. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY 2000 YUKON XL, TO MY DAUGHTER'S 2001 YUKON XL AND WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SHOP FOR REPAIR I WAS TOLD BY THE SHOP PERSONNEL THAT THEY HAD FIXED SEVERAL LIKE VEHICLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE REPLACEMENT WINDOW IS COMPLETELY REDESIGNED INDICATING THAT THE FACTORY HAS BECOME AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HAS NO CALLED FOR A RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN APPEARING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THE ONLY WAY I HAVE TO DATE WAS TO PLACE THE INCIDENT DATE AS TODAY'S DATE. *JB
