Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2024 YUKON is engine with 46 filings, followed by electrical system (12) and engine and engine cooling (11). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2024 YUKON. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

The SUV has 46,000 miles on it. Recently, the check engine light illuminated, prompting me to take it to the dealership for servicing. The diagnostic codes retrieved were U0285 and U1345. I was informed that the aero shutter required replacement. There was no physical damage; it merely ceased functioning. The dealership confirmed the active check engine light and conducted a diagnosis. While my safety was not immediately compromised, I felt extremely frustrated upon learning that GM would not cover the repair under warranty, despite this being a recognized issue that GM has yet to address. This situation is simply unacceptable and warrants further investigation and resolution.

This report documents two separate safety incidents involving the same vehicle that occurred on different dates. Approximately one month prior to the most recent incident, while driving my young children to school, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of braking effectiveness while in motion. I was unable to stop normally at stop signs and had to roll through and roll to a stop. I was required to press the brake pedal fully to the floor to slow the vehicle, and even then braking response was significantly reduced and not functioning as designed. The engine remained running and the vehicle could still accelerate. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, braking function temporarily returned. On a later date, while again transporting my children, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving. The vehicle abruptly shut down while in motion. I was unable to accelerate and experienced loss of power assisted braking. The vehicle only came to a stop after coas

While parked, my [XXX] daughter was in the third-row bench seat. The seat belt became wrapped around her body/neck area. The seat belt entered its 'Automatic Locking Retractor' (ALR) mode and continued to tighten as she moved, pinning her against the seat. The locking mechanism would not release, and the belt became so tight she was unable to breathe. We attempted to manually release the buckle and create slack, but the retractor remained locked and continued to tighten. After several minutes of unsuccessful attempts to free her, we had to use a cutting tool to sever the seat belt to save her life as she couldnt breath, she has brusing where the seat bealt was tighten. The vehicle was stationary in a parking lot at the time. The car has not being inspected , there was not warning. I have a 2024 GMC Denali that had an engine service appointment in September 2025 for the engine recall where they did an oil change & put in performance grade oil & scoped my engine. Rochester Serra GMC said they sent all the engine pictures to GM and my engine was okay according to them. After that appointment in November my engine light went on and my Denali was leaking oil in my driveway. We took the truck back to Serra GMC Rochester and they replaced the oil filter that they said was defective & an oil change was done after my husband requested that just filling up the oil was not okay. They also told us the engine light didnât show up on their computer system and it must have cleared out, so nothing was done for that. Today 1/25/26 now about a month later my engine light is back on and has remained on with multiple starts. This is not acceptable and needs to be investigated and I want this escalated. I do not feel comfortable driving my truck with this engine light on wi

Vehicle 4WD performs poorly with car fishtailing at very low speeds 30 MPH in a straight lane. Very scary . Feels unsafe to drive . Brand new tires were installed prior to that. So not a tire issue.
Driving down the inter state lost power and RPM raised, oil light came on and said to shut off. We checked the oil it was fine. Got back on the road then a knocking started and the vehicle shut off. I tried to start again and it wouldnâtand hour or so later it started and was knocking bad, I turned it back off. called tow truck driver to have it towed to the dealership.
I want to report the dealership, Hill GMC, in Newtown Square PA and the salesman, Vince Pace, that special ordered this vehicle for me in December of 2023 knowing full well that these cars had an engine problem. It was deceitful and cunning. I purchased a GMC 2024 Yukon Denali for $102,000 I am a senior citizen and I was taken full advantage of in this fraudulent sale.

November 12, 2025 - Turned on car and immediately noticed multiple system failure notices and very slow ability to brake. Immediately took to dealership - said battery needed to be re-charged. December 9, 2025 - turned on car and once again immediately noticed multiple system failures and very slow ability to brake. Failures were "Brake System Failure, 43 MPH Top Speed, Forward Collision System Unavailable, Service Brake Pad Monitor, Service ESC, Service Traction Control, Service Sterring Column Lock" Immediately took to dealership. Over the last 25 days in service all the dealership has told me is that their master technicians have looked it over and do not know the root cause. They are waiting for a new technician from GM. They also have another Yukon at the dealership with the same safety symptoms. No issues with the car prior to these two instances of failures. Car should not be driven.

I bought my truck on 10/29/25 on 12/04/25 havenât even maid my first payment on the truck yet and my wife was on her way to work at 4 am when the engine shut off on its own and went in to neutral. She tried starting the truck again and it wouldnât so she had to leave the truck abandoned in the middle of the road and walk to work in the cold and dark. We ended up getting the truck towed home a few hours later when there was a tow truck available. I work out of town so on 12/07/24 when I got back in town I started the truck up and everything seemed normal so I took it for a spin and right as I was getting on the highway it lost propulsion, engine shut off, and truck shifted on its own to neutral. I was almost rear ended by the truck behind me luckily I was able to get the truck out of the way in time. I had to sit and wait for 3 hours until a tow truck was able to tow the truck. This was on a Sunday so I could not get it dropped off at the dealership due to them being closed until th
