General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles. The fuel pump module may not consistently provide sufficient fuel to the engine, resulting in an engine stall.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with certain Hankook tires. The tires may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of curative agent, which could cause tread separation.
While driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and would not accelerate. I was able to pull over onto the shoulder and turn the vehicle off. The engine would not turn over and the brake pedal locked into position, rendering the vehicle immobile. The check engine light also came on at this point. The vehicle was towed and ultimately repaired at the local GMC dealership, where the fuel pump was replaced. The 2022 GMC Terrain already has a recall in place due to the fuel pump module not providing sufficient fuel to the engine, resulting in an engine stall (23V013000), the effects of which sound very similar to what occurred. However, this vehicleâs VIN was not included in the recall. We are very lucky that this failure did not result in a crash, and that no further incident occurred while we were stranded on the side of the highway during the night, waiting for a tow.

The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer replaced the fuel pump module. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving on the highway, and the vehicle was towed to another dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the fuel pump module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,800.

I was driving the vehicle, approaching an intersection and making a right turn. As I turned the steering wheel, it locked. I kept trying to turn the steering wheel and it finally did. A Service ESC error appeared on the dashboard. The T/C light came on as well. I drove it home. The error was gone the next time I started the vehicle. The service code kept coming on intermittently. Appointment scheduled on 11/10/23. GMC service dept stated they wouldn't be checking the vehicle until next Monday, so I could take it home. I rescheduled and took it back on 11/13/23. My vehicle was there for 32 days. My safety was at risk because of the failure of the steering wheel to turn, with traffic in the lane next to me as I was turning.The service dept was able to download the error codes.Code C0800 was captured. The steering gear assembly was removed and replaced, programmed and calibrated.
I had an issue with the All Wheel Drive system. The message Service all wheel drive system appeared as I was driving the vehicle. They found a rear differential module software issue 2810695. They found DTC C056D stored in rear diff control module. They programmed rear diff module and retested. Claim code is 1BYN199108119. I do not have any parts but I was told that they send warranty components back to the manufacturer for inspection.
2nd incident, 1st incident reported: Complaint number 11570916. Was driving the vehicle and the steering wheel locked again as I was making a right turn. The service ESC light immediately came on with the T/C light on the dashboard as well. I had roadside assistance pick up the vehicle to take it to the service department because I was afraid to drive the vehicle. According to the service invoice, they were not able to replicate the problem, but I have a photo of the error code on the dashboard. I was told that they checked the brake module and reprogrammed the computers.

I coasted to the side of the road and put the car into park. I was 200 miles from home and after working with my insurance roadside assistance, I wasn't able to get a tow truck after 3 hours of waiting in sub zero temperatures. I called the local GM dealership in my home town to ask if I could drive the SUV and they said I could at less than 35mph. I drove 100 miles to a town where a tow truck was available. I brought the SUV to the GM dealership and they said the issue is ice and condensation in the inner cooler CAC system. They said my SUV wasn't updated for the cold weather package. I was told my engine needed a cold weather package in order to drive it in sub zero temperatures. WE DID THE RECALL FOR THE FUEL MODULE. NOW THE FUEL GUAGE GOES TO EMPTY WHEN TANK IS FULL. TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR THEY SAID COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. A FEW DAYS LATER IT DID READ INCORRECTLY SAID QUARTER TANK MY WIFE RAN OUT OF GAS IN A BAD AREA. CALLED PRESTON THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM THEY WANTED ME TO BRING IT IN AGAIN I TOLD THEM TO ORDER THE PART THEY REPLACED BECAUSE WE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE TILL THEY DID THE RECALL. WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 6 TO 8 MONTHS TO GET PART. I FEEL THIS IS A BAD PROBLEM WE HAVE TO WATCH OUR MILEAGE TO MAKE SURE WE DONT RUN OUT OF GAS. BRAND NEW CAR AND THEY CANT GET PARTS THATS RIDICULOUS. AND NOW ENGINE LIGHT IS ON
The car stalled while going 45 mph due to a defective fuel sensor per dealer. It then took over a week for them to repairand we were told at least five other vehicles had similar problems
On Aug 3rd 2023 I was driving east on a Michigan Highway when the service transmission warning came across the dash then the car shut off while driving 60mph. When trying to steer the car to the side of the road I noticed the car was in park(this car is equipped with push button shift). The car shutting off made it very hard to steer. If the traffic was heavy this could have caused an accident. I do have a video of this happening

April of 2022 I purchased this car brand new. January of 2023 this car started to have a musty/mold smell. I took it into the dealership in late February and inquired if this was a reported problem. I did as they dealership said and replaced the cabin filter. The cabin filter was black at 9,700 miles. It smelled horrible. On April 6, 2023, I took my car into the dealership to resolve this smell. It was discovered that the the cowl inside the firewall on the drivers side firewall had several holes and an incorrectly applied seam. It was also discovered that the drivers side sunroof drain was also disconnected. This was was full of mold. They replaced the entire interior of my car which took until June 28th. I expressed I did not want this car back for fear of mold, I had already been sick and had no idea why. Once I got into a dealer car, I quit coughing. The dealership cannot guarantee me that they got all of the mold in the car, it still has an odor in it. I have went th

My car is a 2022. It had the fuel module and fuel pump replaced prior to the recall and prior to a fix being abailable. Once a fix was availabley car was kept for about 2 weeks to remedy both recalls. Both still come up when i search by vin. And my car is still have intermittent issues with acceleration and idling.

They looked at the memory sensor card but could not find anything wrong and was told if the error message came back up to call them back, I know more got home and the message came back up so I called them back and they set me up with another appointment the following week. This time because the message only comes up randomly and it did not come up while I was there I was told nothing could be done but to call back when the message comes back and as soon as I got home it came up so I called them back, they made another appointment for th
