THE LAST GMC RECALL FOR VEHICLES THAT SHUT OFF WHEN DRIVEN OVER A BUMP, RAILROAD TRACKS, ETC. DID NOT INCLUDE 2000 TAHOE. I COMPLAINED CONSTANTLY FROM 2000 TO ~2012 OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THAT SINCE THEY COULD NOT RECONSTRUCT THE COMPLAINT BY DRIVING A COUPLE OF BLOCKS, THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. ESSENTIALLY, THEY WERE TELLING ME THAT A PROBLEM DID NOT EXIST EVEN AFTER I FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS HAPPENING NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN GOING OVER THE SAME SMALL BUMP ON A MAJOR ROADWAY, ~3 FEET FROM A MAJOR INTERSECTION. THE CAR AND MY HEART WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF FOR NUMEROUS SECONDS LEAVING ME WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO STEER OR STOP. WE WERE JUST FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE NEVER HIT FROM BEHIND AS MANY TIMES THAT IT HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP STILL CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT A PROBLEM DID NOT EXIST. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WAS SO HAPPY TO FINALLY GET RID OF THAT VEHICLE. *TR

DT: HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS. THE PROBLEM IS BEING INVESTIGATED ON GMC VEHICLES. SPORADICALLY THE BRAKES MAKE A NOISE, AND DRIVER HAS TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. WHILE IN A PARKING LOT HIT ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE OF THE MALFUNCTIONED. *AK

WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED ABS BRAKES DID NOT ACTIVATE ON DRY OR WET ROAD CONDITONS OR WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED FOR PROBLEM, AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS NORMAL FOR THE BRAKES TO FAIL IF ALL FOUR WHEELS WERE NOT TOUCHING THE GROUND. CONSUMER STATED THAT PEDAL TOUCHED THE FLOOR.
