General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2011-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 and GMC Sierra 3500 trucks equipped with dual fuel tanks. The low fuel level sensor for the front tank may stick causing the rear tank to overfill the front tank.

Transmission Control Module TCM failed while driving down the freeway I84 in Boise Idaho. AC Delco part number 24256861. This caused the truck to go into limp mode when at highway speed. While in limp mode the truck would not respond to throttle commands. Truck slowed to 20mph causing a disruption in traffic flow and making it very difficult to get off the freeway, dodging traffic. The TCM failure has been confirmed through a local GMC dealer (Dennis Dillon in Boise Idaho). The Manufacture (General Motors) has discontinued manufacturing this part leaving my vehicle and thousands of others failed. GM's responce is the part is on a national backorder. 24-26 months at the earliest. Aftermarket support is none existent. There were no warning lamps or messages or symptoms prior to the failure. Very limited parts are available on Ebay (10 or less) . Dealer price for the TCM is $710. Ebay pricing is 4-10 thousand. GM customer assistance provides no answers and fails to ackowled

CP4 High Pressure Fuel Pump failed/disintegrated causing metal shavings to be pumped through out the fuel lines, injectors and connected systems requiring a replacement of the pump, injector and fuel lines totaling over $11,000 in repairs. Trucks mileage was 94112 at the time.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC SIERRA 3500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED CAUSING THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A SIGN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. THE CONTACT SUFFERED SOME LEG SORENESS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RYAN AUTOMOTIVE GROUP (1101 OLIVER RD, MONROE, LA 71201) WHERE THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CAUSE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION A FEW MONTHS LATER FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND WHICH THE CONTACT BELIEVED WAS RELATED TO HIS FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT REIMBURSE THE VEHICLE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.

GOT A RECALL ON DECEMBER 15, 2017 ABOUT THE SECOND GAS TANK ISSUE. ADVISED NOT TO FILL THE SECOND TANK BECAUSE IT CAUSE THE FRONT TANK TO EXPAND, RUB THE DRIVE SHAFT, AND CAUSE A LEAK AND POSSIBLE FIRE. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK YET. IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS. WE TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES WITH THIS TRUCK AND NEED THE ADDED FUEL FROM THE SECOND TANK. THANK YOU
