ED DENA'S AUTO CENTER (1500 W EL MONTE WAY, DINUBA, CA 93618), WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASH. 3 ARE AT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. 2 OF THOSE HAVE CRACKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH ALLOWING A PIECE OF THE DASH CAPABLE OF DISLODGING IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS CREATING A HAZARDOUS PROJECTILE. THE CRACK ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MEASURES OVER 7 INCHES IN LENGTH. PICTURES PROVIDED. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE ISSUE STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OR IN MOTION.

I NOTICED THE CRACK ON A MONDAY AFTER BEING STATIONARY OVER THE WEEKEND. MY PICKUP IS GARAGED ALMOST ALWAYS AND OTHER THAN TIME DURING A WORK DAY IS NOT EXPOSED TO EXTREME HEAT OR PROLONGED TIME OUTDOORS.

IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY OR THE ELECTRIC BUTTON ON THE INTERIOR IF IT'S NOT WORKING, NEITHER OPERATE THE LOCK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THEFT OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS, OR WORSE, MY ENTIRE VEHICLE IF THE ACTUATOR DOES NOT LOCK THE DOOR AS INTENDED. IF THE ELECTRONIC PORTION DOESN'T WORK AND I HAVE LEFT THE VEHICLE RUNNING WHILE LOCKED, I MUST USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY TO UNLOCK THE OTHER DOORS AND ENTER THE VEHICLE VIA ANOTHER DOOR AND REACH OVER TO MANUALLY UNLOCK MY DRIVER DOOR.
