MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON. SOMETIME THE NEXT DAY I STARTED UP MY TRUCK AND RELEASED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, ALL SEEMED FINE. I THEN RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PROCEED TO BACK UP. GAVE THE VEHICLE A LITTLE GAS TO DO SO, WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AGAIN AND HAD THEM GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARDS. IN ORDER TO STOP I HAD TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO HIT INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. NO DAMAGE TO EITHER OTHER THAN A SCUFF. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPEN

HE THEN NOTICED BRAKE FLUID ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THE CONTACT RECEIVED MINOR BRUISES DUE TO THE SUDDEN STOP. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 142,000.

MECHANIC REPLACED THE ABS CONTROL VALVE. *MC THE CONSUMER STATED HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THE RECALL COULD BE PERFORMED ON DEC 28, 2006, HOWEVER HE EXPERIENCED A FAILURE 1 MONTH LATER. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT LEFT SENSOR WAS DAMAGED WHICH WAS PROBABLY THE CAUSE OF THE CONTROL VALVE FAILURE. *JB
