Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. OUR 1994 GMC JIMMY WAS BEING DRIVEN BY MY WIFE AND HAD MY TWO CHILDREN INSIDE. SHE EXITED THE PARKING LOT OF THE LOCAL FOOD STORE. AFTER CROSSING TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET, SHE NOTICED TRAFFIC STOPPED AHEAD FOR THE UPCOMING STOPLIGHT. SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED, AND SHE STARTED A FOUR CAR CHAIN REACTION. THIS RESULTED IN THE DAMAGE OF FOUR VEHICLES AND THREE EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS. (INCLUDUNG MY SON, WHO HIT & BROKE THE WINDSHIELD). IT APPEARS THAT EVERYONE IS O.K. AT THIS POINT, ALL LEAVING UNDER THEIR OWN POWER. THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS PRESENT OR REPORTED BY POLICE, WHICH APPEARS TO COLLABORATE MY WIFES ACCOUNT OF THE INCIDENT. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL INFORMATION FROM GMC, THOUGH I SEE, THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE, THAT IT MAY BE EMMINENT. WHAT SHOULD WE DO FROM THIS POINT. IF GMC IS AT FAULT, WHY SHOULD MY WIFE BE TICKETTED AND MY INSURANCE RECORD BE MARRED BY THEIR NEGLIGENT IN-ACTION.
