THIS REPORT IS ABOUT UHAUL LICENSED GMC EXTENDED CARGO VANS AND A DANGER IN THE VAN'S CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM. THIS WEEKEND, I RENTED ONE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MOVING. THIS GMC MODEL VAN HAS TWO OUT-OPENING SIDE DOORS, AND TWO SIMILAR REAR DOORS. *AK WHILE LOADING BOXES IN THE VAN, THE WIND SHUT THE REAR DOORS CLOSED--AND LOCKED ME INSIDE. THE DOOR LOCK INDICATORS SHOWED "RED", INDICATING THEY WERE UNLOCKED. HOWEVER, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. I COULD NOT OPEN THE REAR DOORS NOR THE SIDE DOORS, AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE THE VAN FOR 20 MINUTES. EVEN THOUGH I HAD THE KEY, THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET INTO THE DRIVER'S AREA DUE TO A PARTITION CAGE THAT DOES NOT OPEN. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL A PASSERBY OPENED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS LOCK--IN HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY, FORTUNATELY WHEN SOMEONE WAS WITH ME, SHOWING THAT IT IS A PROBLEM THAT CAN BE RECREATED. IT IS AN OBVIOUS FAILUER OF THE CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM THAT IS NOT ALLOWING THE VAN TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. UHAUL MUST BE
