IT JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE AND I AM HERE TO SAY THAT I WAS SCARED TO DEATH AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED BUT I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR FOUR DAYS. I WAS BRAKING AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HIT THERE BRAKES. I STEPPED ON MY BRAKES HARDER AND THE ABS KICKED IN FOR A SHORT TIME. THEN THE BRAKES FAILED AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP. HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO MY CAR OR THE CAR I HIT. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE THE TRUCK DO THIS AGAIN.

REQUEST FOR NHTSA TO EXAMINE GMC JIMMY ABS PROBLEMS.*MR CONSUMER WAS HAVING BRAKE PROBLEMS PRIOR TO RECALL WORK BEING PERFORMED. AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE, THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED. CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS FAILURE. SHE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF GM IS STILL LIABLE FOR THE FAULTY BRAKES AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE. *PH
WHEN APPLYING THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES THEY WILL LOCK UP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO HAVE EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED A RECALL REPAIR REGARDING THE ABS WAS PERFORMED IN 2000. GM EVALUATED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THE CRASH WAS DUE TO POOR BRAKES. *JB *NM

WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY HARD. LOST ALL ABILITY TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS RESULTED IN A 1-CAR ACCIDENT. THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS WAS PART OF THE 1999 RECALL AND WAS IN FOR SERVICE. LAST YEAR THE LOSS OF BRAKING WAS EXPEREINCED AND A SENSOR ON THE ABS SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. THIS RECENT ACCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER 6500 MILES ON THE REPLACED SENSOR.*AK

CONSUMER NOTICED A BLUE LIGHT ON DASHBOARD SAYING, ANTILOCK BRAKES. VEHICLE RAN INTO A ROCK DITCH ON SIDE OF THE ROAD AND INTO AN ENBANKMENT, AND IT STOPPED ON IMPACT.*AK
CONSUMER REARENDED A LANDSCAPING TRAILOR STANDING STILL TRYING TO MAKE A TURN. CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS ENOUGH TIME TO STOP. CONSUMER'S FOOT WAS PRESSED DOWN WITHOUT LETTING UP, AND THE VEHICLE STILL WOULDN'T STOP.*AK
SINCE THE SAFETY RECALL 99I-006 WAS PERFORMED THE ABS SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATES WHILE DRIVING AND THE BRAKES LOCK UP, THE FAULTY ABS SYSTEM RESULTED IN A REAR END COLLISION. NLM
THE ANTILOCK BRAKES HAVE FAILED MANY TIMES CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO BE INVOLVED IN 5 CRASHES, RESULTING IN AN INJURY DURING ONE OF THE INCIDENCES, 2 RECALLS (99I006 AND 99V193) HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL
