BRAKES FAILED AND I HAD TO SWERVE INTO ONCOMING LANE TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION. PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AND SECONDARY BRAKE SYSTEM BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO A STOP. INVESTIGATION SHOWED SEVERE RUSTING OF BRAKE LINES THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE TRAGEDY OF THIS IS THAT THIS TRUCK COST OVER $60,000 AND FOR PROBABLY $10 MORE AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURE, GM COULD HAVE INSTALLED STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINES OR AT LEAST SOMETHING WITH SOME CORROSION TREATMENT. THIS IS A REAL TICKING TIME BOMB WITH ALL OF THE GM PRODUCTS ON THE USE CAR LOTS THAT ARE ABOUT TO RUPTURE THEIR BRAKES AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I REMEMBER WHEN HONDA HAD TO RECALL FOR RUSTY FENDERS.
