WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AFTER CRESTING A LARGE HILL THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER ASSIST TO THE STEERING AND BREAK SYSTEMS CAUSING VEHICLE TO DESCEND THE HILL AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED 90+MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND THE BREAK PEDAL WAS STUCK IN THE HIGH POSITION (E.G. NO PLAY IN PEDAL) I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY REMOVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE ROADWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT RETURN UNTIL AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD BEEN REPLACED IN 2003 AS PART OF A GMC TSB.
