Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 ACADIA is air bags with 105 filings, followed by steering (31) and electrical system (25). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 4 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 2 investigation files overlapping the 2015 ACADIA. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. The engine is not shifting properly, and the vehicle loses speed while driving and hesitates to accelerate. At time, it feels as though the car is not moving at all. This issue has occurred on multiple occasions, affecting both me and my family, and has forced us to pull over because the vehicle could barely move forward. This happed once on the highway and almost caused an accident. Additionally, the check engine light remains on at all times.

Torque converter is going bad, hard shift when going slow then speeding up, stuttering at random times, vibration, hard shifting into reverse. No check engine light. Acadia known for transmission and torque converter problems.
I have been trying to get this recall done for 1 year. I have placed 3 calls over this time and they say the part is on back order. This is dangerous as it is a recall on the driver airbag. A year is too long to wait. Please advise on what can be done. Dealership: GMC Thompson Raleigh, NC
This vehicle has a recall dated back to May of 2023. I have been trying to get the airbag for this recall replaced since then from the GMC dealership we purchased the vehicle from to no avail. I have been on the wait/call list since the recall date and still havenât heard that my part is ready to be replaced. The airbags on our GMC Sierra were replaced so I do not understand why the long wait on the Acadia. I worry that if we do get into an accident, we will be badly hurt or killed if the airbags go off. The time frame to get this remedied is unacceptable.
Check engine light is on. Shudder and delayed reaction after engaging the gas pedal when moving forward in gear 1 & 2 then again seems to intermittently has issue with higher gears when on the hwy. Without warning, Several times the Acadia would not engage gears and wouldn't move at all after backing into the street from driveway. I had to have someone help push the Acadia back into the driveway. The Check Engine light keeps turning on and off. Had O'Riely check th OBD with code reader. "Torque Converter Selenoid is stuck 'ON'. Was informed by Costco there was n 2020 Recall for Acadia"s of my year regarding a Transmission recall Ref #N202313440.

I was curious about recalls because I totaled my 15 Acadia SLT2 and when I hit the impact didnât deploy airbags and I had no idea until after my accident that they were recalled!!! This incident totaled my Acadia caused my face to be slammed into my steering wheel, cutting me in 2 places and shattering my eye glasses. I now have a scar that looks like a 2nd chin from my impact to hitting the steering column! What should I do? I wasnât or hadnât received anything from GMC about this recall until recently and damage has already been done and Iâm at a loss of tremendous amounts because my air bags could have saved $300+ glasses and doctors appointments etcâ¦
