Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 GV70 ELECTRIFIED is electrical system with 3 filings, followed by forward collision avoidance: warnings (1) and lane departure: warning (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
No open NHTSA investigation overlaps the 2023 GV70 ELECTRIFIED in the current dataset. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

This was a certified (CPO) car purchased in April and on the first highway drive the front engine under cover (aka skid plate) came loose and rendered the car inoperable as it was violently flapping under the car and in danger of coming loose which would have caused significant road debris but also had the potential of destabilizing the car. On the road shoulder, I could see this large body piece was only held by 2 of the four fasteners and was also torn. The car is with the dealership of Genesis of Virginia Beach to have the part replaced after having the car towed there. The car just went through a 191 point Genesis CPO inspection and had no indications this large body piece would fall off or jeopardize my safety.
ICCU failed leaving me stranded on the side of the road (thankfully not on bridge). This was supposed to have been fixed under a recall the week prior by reprogramming the computer. Genesis has not changed the ICCU so even if/when repaired, it will most likely happen again. The Genesis of Wexford, PA dealer confirmed ICCU and fuse blown. "Stop vehicle and check power supply" warning light came on.
Genesis GV70 Electrified with 15,818 miles. Car suddenly would not accelerate beyond 20 mph and RED Warning on dashboard to immediately pull over and stop car. No prior warning or symptoms. Significant concern for safety of my passenger and myself due to driving much lower than speed limit on road, in wet conditions. Thankfully, I was not on a freeway or major intersection. Called Genesis dealership, and service manager confirmed the defective part is the ICCU, which was already on NHTSA recall and was reprogrammed earlier this year on my car. Same issue occurred, but this time the dealership plans to replace the part. Why was this not replaced the first time if it can go bad? This should be a required replacement, not reprogramming. This is the SECOND major power failure on my car within 1-1/2 yrs of ownership and only 15,818 miles driven. Seems like significant issues on this car, maybe a lemon?
Complete power outage when parking the car, after pressing the power button. Car did not go through shutoff mode. Parking brake was not engaged, so car would roll if foot brake was released. Could not restart vehicle, and no electrical switches worked. Doors would not unlock, rear hatch wouldn't activate. Approximately 30 seconds later power came back on and dash showed red status for approximately 3 seconds. Then dash returned to normal status and car worked fine.

While driving, instrument cluster and infotainment system both went dark. Car was still driveable, but speedometer remained fixed and did not reflect vehicle speed. Indicator stalk did not activate turn signals. Hazard button did not activate emergency flashers. Reset gesture (holding map+setup buttons) had no effect. After driving for a while, instrument cluster and infotainment system restarted, and several error conditions were displayed, including Check Forward Safety System, Check Smart Cruise Control, and Check Lane Departure System. Driver side power window and power seat are inoperable.
