Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2026 GV70 is electrical system with 4 filings, followed by fuel/propulsion system (2) and engine (2). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 2 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
No open NHTSA investigation overlaps the 2026 GV70 in the current dataset. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Tried to start the car and got a several warnings of "turn off vehicle and check EV system" and "power limited". This is similar to the ICCU failure issue other people have reported.

The Instrument Cluster Screen went blank (OFF) while driving 65mph on the freeway. The vehicle mechanically kept functioning. I had no gages. The system began to reboot within a few seconds as I was attempting to pull over to the shoulder of the freeway. My vehicle continued to function normally so I drove home. My wife was very startled and shaken. This happened again so I took vehicle to the dealership service dept. where they performed a diagnostic test finding â technical glitchesâ as I was told. They ordered a new screen. I drove off with my car until a new screen arrived two weeks later. The screen again went blank on the city streets a day or so before the new screen arrived. I only drove my car as necessary while my wife refused to do so and never had other passengers. I surrendered my car for repairs on Nov.14, 2025 and have not retrieved my car as of today, Jan.7,2026. I became aware during the many repair delays that the dealership was negligent in allowing me to drive

While driving on the highway, the car shut down with no warning messages and gas fumes filled the interior of the car. I was not able to move over to a completely safe spot on the road because the car shut down so quickly. I was not able to put the windows down as there was no power to the car and unable to exit the car because I was not in a safe spot on the highway. I had to remain in the closed car inhaling the gas fumes. I called 911 and they had me sit in the sheriffs car until a tow truck came to keep me out of the fumes. The car was towed to the dealership, it had 53 miles on it. This event was extremely dangerous. It is currently at the service department of the dealership for repairs.

I purchased a 2026 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige (Certified Pre-Owned) on August 26, 2025, with ~100 miles on the odometer. At around 475 miles, the climate control screen went completely dark, rendering the HVAC and seat heating/cooling systems inaccessible via the center stack. While some touch-sensitive functions remain partially active (e.g., seat heater turned on and could not be turned off; AUTO and SYNC lights blink), no display is visible, making the system unusable. This poses a driver safety hazardâespecially in foggy or cold conditions when defrost or rapid cabin adjustments are neededâand causes distraction and discomfort during operation, hot seats in the summer and cannot turn off. The vehicle was dropped off at the dealer (Genesis of Cary, NC) on September 11 and remains out of service awaiting a replacement screen (ETA September 24). I was told this was the first time the dealership had seen this issue. Though covered under warranty, the failure occurred in the
Windshield cracked for no apparent reason. The weather was extremely hot and the vehicle was in a garage.
