Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2023 GV60 is electrical system with 30 filings, followed by power train (10) and unknown or other (7). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 8 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

No open NHTSA investigation overlaps the 2023 GV60 in the current dataset. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

Car stopped taking a charge. ICCU and fuse seem to have died. This widespread problem needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. It's dangerous and careless to not have fixed the issue years later.

20260211POWER TRAIN

While driving car, I heard a "pop" sound coming from the back seat, my ICCU had failed and then there was a sudden loss vehicle power and the car went into a limp mode. The car only had 5,650 miles on it. This is a serious safety hazard. The car was towed to the dealership and a new ICCU was installed. The replacement part was the same model number that had failed. I was advised by the service adviser that I could possibly experience another ICCU failure in the future.

In 2023 & 2025, my vehicle had been brought into the Genesis dealership to complete NHTSA 24V868000 safety recall by receiving a new software (Service Campaigns 907G & 025G). However, despite that, on [XXX], the vehicle's ICCU failed while I was traveling at highway speeds. The ICCU is the primary component that the safety recall was supposed to address, yet it failed anyways. The car suddenly and dangerously reduced propulsion on the freeway, and I had to slowly maneuver the car onto the shoulder where the car then completely lost all propulsion entirely. My family and I were in the car, and our safety was at extreme risk since the car lost propulsion without warning on the freeway and other vehicles had to swerve around us. There was the very real possibility that had I not reacted quickly, that we would have been fully immobilized on the freeway, blocking traffic and creating a real safety hazard for other vehicles. There were no warning lights or any indications that the part was g

20251204VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

My Genesis EV has experienced multiple incidents where the vehicle suddenly decelerates while driving and limits its speed to approximately 20 mph, creating a significant safety hazard. The first incident occurred in September 2025, when the vehicle unexpectedly began to decelerate on its own and would not exceed ~20 mph. I brought it to the Genesis dealership, but they were unable to reproduce the issue. The second incident occurred in November 2025, with the same failure: sudden deceleration and a maximum speed of ~20 mph. I brought the vehicle back to the dealership. They have kept the car for diagnosis but again report they “cannot reproduce” the problem. The issue remains unresolved, and Genesis has denied my buyback request. This is an intermittent EV drivetrain or power-delivery failure that prevents the vehicle from accelerating normally. If this occurs in traffic, at intersections, or during merging, it could easily lead to a collision. The vehicle is currently still at th

The chrome trim strip above the windshield flew off while driving. This poses a safety hazard for anyone driving behind a GV60 and unfortunately this issue seems to be very widespread (examples: [XXX] ). Genesis refused to fix the issue for me despite being under warranty, so I suspect they are doing the same for other owners despite the safety risk. The headlights have excessive moisture on the inside. Genesis replaced them once a year ago but now they have moisture on the inside lens so bad that you can't see the LED bulbs. This is a known issue with the GV60 and even though the car is under warranty Genesis will not cover this under warranty, they say it's normal! The moisture is changing the way the headlights light up the road and this moisture issue is a major safety concern. This needs to be fixed, no headlight beam should ever be obstructed by material inside the headlight assembly. I leased a 2023 Genesis GV60, which was misrepresented as new but had multiple safety recalls, including ICCU battery failure, AWD/powertrain malfunction, and seatbelt defects. From the start, the seatbelts didn’t secure properly, and the car failed NY state inspection, causing me to lose a job that required a safe vehicle. Despite six visits to different service centers in 3 months, no actual repairs were completed. Mechanics admitted they didn’t understand the battery defect. The recalls later disappeared from the system without resolution. This is highly unsafe and deceptive. Genesis refused accountability, claiming they don’t control dealership practices—yet they allowed a dealer to fraudulently lease a car with open recalls. They also filed a false insurance claim under my name, inflating my premium and causing me over $33,000 in damages. I visited five other luxury dealers and confirmed that other brands do not allow demo or recall vehicles to be sold this way. Genesisâ

The vehicle's instrument panel, behind steering wheel displaying things like speed and warning signs, periodically goes blank at start up for between 30 seconds and 15 minutes. There are lots of reports of this problem on sites like Redit and Genesis Forum, however, Genesis has not issued a recall for even a service bulletin. This apparently common problem is a safety hazard as the driver does not have access to critical safety information, including the vehicle's speed, for a period of time. Because this problem is periodic, it is often difficult to verify at the dealership as it does not produce fault codes. This leaves consumers in a bind as the problem persists since the dealership and manufacturer will not always address.

20250421POWER TRAIN

I leased a Genesis GV60 in July 2023. The car was under a stop sale order and had to be repaired before it was leased to me because of a known issue with the rear axle. The dealership performed the fix to the vehicle and then proceeded to lease me the vehicle. In January 2025 while driving approximately 40 MPH on a paved flat road, I experienced a sudden thud and loss of power. When I applied pressure to the accelerator a loud angry noise came from the back of the vehicle. Smoke and a burning smell came from the back of the vehicle. There were electrical issues with the car being initial unresponsive to attempts to put the car in park, unlock doors and turn off the vehicle. We left the vehicle on the side of the road. We were in a remote location in a very cold climate with no cell phone signal at dusk. We flagged down a passing-by driver for transport to a safe location where we could call Genesis Emergency Roadside assistance. The car was towed to an authorized Genesis dealers

On 3/5/2025 I was driving my car and accelerating to 45 miles per hour when the Stop vehicle and check power supply warning on my car showed on the dash followed by a loud and starting audible tone. I pulled over to check the car and it still worked well. I then went home and tried to charge the vehicle off of our level 2 charger and the vehicle would not start to charge. I brought the car to the dealer the next day after charging the 12 volt battery overnight. I charged the 12 volt battery because the car was no longer charging it as the charging system was not working. The dealer then diagnosed that the ICCU and main fuse were broken and needed replacement. These were the problem parts that previous NHTSA recalls were issued and completed on this vehicle to address this failure. My car still failed with around 6,750 miles driven. I want to let the NHTSA know that the failures of this critical part are still happening despite the manufacturer's recalls being completed in a timely mann
