Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 1995 TEMPO is tires:tread/belt with 4 filings, followed by electrical system:ignition:module (1) and seat belts (1). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 1995 TEMPO, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. IN JULY OF 2000 THE AUTOMATIC SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER SIDE BECAME STUCK ON THE TRACK AND WOULD NOT MOVE AND THUS THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY COME BACK AND COVER THE SHOULDER. IT JUST MAKES A LOT OF NOISE WHEN THE CAR DOOR IS OPENED AND CLOSED. THE ONE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOES AUTOMATICALLY COME ACROSS THE SHOULDER WHEN THE DOOR SHUTS BUT DOES MAKE THE SAME NOISE AS THE ONE ON THE DRIVER THAT DOES NOT MOVE ON THE TRACK. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE PEOPLE SAID THAT MY FIVE YEAR/75000 EXPIRED IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED.
