THE FUEL TANK DELANMINATES FROM THE INSIDE, ALLOWING PAINT CHIPS TO FLOW INTO THE PUMP AND INJECTORS, CAUSING THE VEHICAL TO SUDDENLY DIE OUT ON THE HIGHWAY
MY LCF DUMP TRUCK BEGAN IDLING A BIT IRRADICALLY. DRIVING THE TRUCK AT ABOUT 40 MPH IT BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND LOSE POWER, UNTIL THE ENGINE TURNED OFF COMPLETELY LEAVING ME STRANDED ON THE ROAD. I OPENED UP THE PRIMARY FUEL FILTER AND FOUND IT TO BE CAKED WITH A SILVER METALLIC MATERIAL. I PUT IN A NEW FILTER AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK HOME, BUT THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING AS IT SHOULD. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND A LOT OF DIESEL FORD TRUCK OWNERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND IT WAS BECAUSE THE FUEL TANKS WERE DELAMINATING AND GETTING SUCKED THROUGH THE FUEL SYSTEM.

ABOUT 0.7 MILE THEN AFTER FEW DAYS THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT REPAIR, THEN I HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP XXXXXXX MOTORS INC. WE PURCHASE THE FORD LCF IN APRIL OF 2006 AND HAD OUR FIRST FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT IN FEB. OF 2007 AT JUST OVER 14,000 MILES. LUCKILY THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, SINCE THE FIRST REPAIR/REPLACEMENT WE HAVE HAD THE TRUCK DOWN FOR SIMILAR RELATED ITEMS TO FUEL PUMP 7 TIMES. WE STOPPED BRINGING IT TO RUSH TRUCK CENTER AFTER WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED BECAUSE THEIR RATES ARE SO HIGH. THIS YEAR IT WAS DOWN ALMOST 45 DAYS OFF THE ROAD DEALING WITH FORD CORPORATE OFFICE BEGGING THEM TO DO A BUY BACK, BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE IS COSTING US AS AN ARM AND A LEG AND NEGATIVELY AFFECTS OUR BUSINESS. THE VEHICLE BARELY HAS 65,000 MILES AND HAS BECOME SO UNDEPENDABLE THAT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. OUR BUSINESS IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION, WE AS MANY OTHERS ARE BARELY HANGING ON AND CANNOT JUST REPLACE THIS VEHICLE. IT ALSO HAS A DEFECT RELATED TO THE AIR-CONDITIONER.
