Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 1 active recall campaign, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2019 FUSION ENERGI, and 8 remain open. This is my 2nd complaint on the non action to repair this recall. Ford's latest attempt to NOT repair the electrical defect is to buy my car. Their offer does meet the cost of buying a replacement car. Is Ford so inept that they cannot repair their own products? The offer to buy the car sends a red flag up. Is Ford's "solution" to buy my car an attempt to acquire cars to resell at a profit? If Ford cannot repair a defect that was diagnosed a long time ago, should they be allowed to continue to manufacture and sell cars in the United States? Has Ford been sanctioned in any way for this defect?
