The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph the brakes failed and the pedal extended to the floor causing the vehicle to crash into a stationary truck. During the crash, the front end was damaged but the airbags did not deploy. No injuries were reported, no police report was taken and the vehicle was not towed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offer

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF A SECOND VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED , I HAD BOTH CALIPERS REPLACED, BOTH REAR STRUTS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN LOCKING UP WHEN THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE IS ENGAGED. I'M DECEMBER 2018 DURING A SKIFF OF SNOW THE BRAKES WENT SOFT AND TO THE FLOOR AND MY DAUGHTER REAR ENDED THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER CAUSING $3,000 IN DAMAGE. THANKFUL THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GET FIXED UNDER RECALL FOR 1.5 YEARS+ DID NOT DEPLOY.

TO BRING THE PEDAL BACK TO NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR THEN PUMP THE BRAKES EXTREMELY HARD. THIS COULD HAPPEN IN AS LITTLE AS EVERY 20 FEET WHEN DRIVING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS. THIS ALSO AFFECTS THE STEERING WHEN DRIVING IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS. THE ABS IS SUPPOSE TO HELP KEEP THE CAR IN CO
