TAKATA RECALL NOTIFIED BY FORD OF THE RECALL IN MARCH 2017 AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THE REPAIR MADE BY DEALER. FOR 7 MONTHS THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE GARAGE AND UNABLE TO BE USED DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR PASSENGER INJURY.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 90 MPH ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT FROM THIRD TO FOURTH GEAR, AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO TWO PARKED VEHICLES. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SUSPENSION ARM FRACTURED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN THE MIDDLE LANE GOING APPROXIMATELY 65-70 MPH WHEN MY CAR JUST DIED. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WERE I PLACED IT IN PARK AND THEN IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT HAS RUN FINE BEFORE THAT INCIDENT AND HAS RUN FINE EVER SINCE. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAD THE VEHICLE ALL DAY TEST DRIVING AND PLACED IT ON THERE COMPUTER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. AT THIS TIME, I ONLY HAD 479 MILES ON THE CAR. *JB
