The 2019FORDFLEX carries 215 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 4 crashes, 0 fires, 3 injuries, and 0 fatalities. For crash performance, NHTSA's New Car Assessment Program gave this cohort an overall Not Rated/5 rating, with Not Rated/5 front crash, Not Rated/5 side crash, and 4/5 rollover scores derived from standardized barrier and dynamic tests.
Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2019 FLEX is back over prevention with 69 filings, followed by unknown or other (40) and electrical system (18). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 4 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2019 FLEX, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I brought my 2019 Ford Flex to World Ford Pensacola for two open safety recalls: 25SA9 (Rearview Camera) and 25SB8 (B-Pillar Trim). Despite the B-pillar trim being already detached (failed component), the dealer refused to document the inspection for recall 25SB8. Furthermore, on Invoice #XXX, they incorrectly documented recall 25SA9 as âOnly for Mustangâ, even though my vehicle is a Ford Flex. This dealer is providing false documentation and refusing to record safety-critical defects on the official OASIS report. On or about January 22, 2026 when I put my 2019 Ford Flex in reverse the rear view camera displayed a torn and/or flickering picture for the first time ever that I had seen. The image will occasionally stop with an inverted camera image. Since then the camera display on the dash board will at times also display a message saying something like "rear view camera not available" with no camera image at all. Occasionally the camera image will be normal intermittently. Moving the transmission select lever to park or other locations besides reverse and back to reverse does not seem to correct the camera image problem. This problem was first noticed in my 2019 Ford Flex on or about January 22, 2026. About 13 months ago I received a recall notice in the USPS mail advising that I would be contacted about the recall for this problem. So far, no contact has been received by me. Now that the camera problem has started in my vehicle trying to back up and avoid obstacles or people has become a large
