Within that volume, owners reported 0 crashes, 4 fires, 1 injury, and 0 fatalities. Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2015 FLEX is steering with 19 filings, followed by fuel/propulsion system (18) and electrical system (12). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 4 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2015 FLEX, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

I am having the same issues that were recalled in the 2019 Ford Flex backup camera. My 2015 Ford Flex backup camera is malfunctioning, going black, flipping the image and flashing randomly. It has progressively gotten worse.
I contacted Ford about my issue when I learned that recalls on other Ford products were issued for my fault. I was told that there was no recall for this issue and they would only fix it if I paid for it. Since then a recall for 2015 Ford Flex has finally been issued. My 2015 Ford Flex is experiencing backup camera issues the same as reported in the 2015 Flex recall issued earlier this year. I have talked to local Ford dealers as well as Customer Recall Support. They all say that since it is not included in the recall list they will not fix it. I will have to pay for diagnosis plus any repair costs. Since this is already stated to be a Safety Issue, I feel that it should be fixed by the manufacturer. Just because they did not include my VIN in their recall list should not be an excuse for not fixing the Safety Problem. I asked for a list of the serial number range of the recall but they would not provide. When I requested to speak to higher management they also declined to give me that
