Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 3 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle, the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.
NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2024 F-450 SD, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page, a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. n October 28th, I left Atlanta, Georgia with a load going to PittsburghâPhiladelphia. On October 29th, 2025, around 12:30 a.m., I was approximately two miles north of Birch River, West Virginia. While driving uphill at a steady speed of about 60â65 mph, I suddenly heard a loud popping sound, as if something had exploded or blown inside the engine. Right after that, the truck immediately lost power, and I pulled over to the shoulder as quickly as I could. As I was stopping, I saw flames coming through the hood directly in front of me, mostly from the driverâs side. I grabbed the fire extinguisher from inside my cab and opened the hood. On the driverâs side of the engine, I saw heavy flames coming out under high pressure. I emptied the entire extinguisher, but the fire did not stop. Then I ran to get my second extinguisher from the trailer and used it completely as well, but the flames kept burning. I noticed that strong flames were also coming from underneath the front driverâ

This is the third time I have had this issue. I will be driving my truck and will out of nowhere get a warning on the dash that says: âPre-Collision Assist not availableâ then after that happens I will not be able to set the cruise control. This can only be fixed by a trip to the dealer ship and usual takes 10-15 days to get fixed. It will work as normal for a few thousand miles than come back. It also happened approximately January 2nd with approximately 2000 and March 15th with 4000 miles.

A warning comes on stating the Pre-Collision Assist not available and does not go away. Adaptive Cruise Control and Standard Cruise Control also do not work. It has been at the dealer and they can not get it to work. From reading online this has happened to a handful of 2024 Ford Super Dutys.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? High beam "projector style" LED headlights have bright lines that are very distracting when driving at night. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Driver's vision is impacted. They are particularly bad on curvy, mountainous terrain. The bright lines produced by the high beams impair vision similar to how a movie with flashing lights might affect a person. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, by 2 dealers. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, I am trying to get the manufacturer to do so. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.
