20230227ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE)

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and lost motive power. The message "Stop Vehicle Safely Now" was displayed. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart after several attempts and the message remained displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle started up after an hour and half. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the exhaust gas temperature sensor. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that Ford Campaign Numbers: 15N01 and 15N02 had expired unless the vehicle was an ambulance. The failure mileage was approximately 196,475. The contact stated that they purchased one EGTS and installed the part themselves. (4) THIS LEAVES THE OTHER 4 PRONE TO FAIL AT ANY TIME. I WAS CHARGED $897.67. FOR THE" HALF REPAIR". FORD SHOULD BE FORCED TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AS IT IS A WELL KNOWN FAILURE AND DOCUMENTED ON NUMEROUS INTERNET WEBSITES. THERE IS A TSB FROM FORD TO THEIR DEALERS ON IT. WHEN THIS BOUNCING HAPPENS IT IS QUITE SCARY AND REALLY THROWS THE TRUCK AROUND IT DOES NOT STOP BOUNCING UNTIL THE SPEED IS SLOWED TO AROUND 35 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT EITHER BY THROWING THE TRUCK INTO A MEDIAN OR INTO ANOTHER LANE OF TRAFFIC AS THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL DURING THE BOUNCING CONDITION

I NOW HAVE A THIRD TIRE WITH TREAD SEPARATION. THE TIRE IS A BF GOODRICH ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO, LT285/65R20 127/124S, DOT (BE3F UH11 1313). THIS TIME THE TIRE WAS LOCATED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AND CAUSED A DEATH SHIMMY. THE TIRE STILL HAS THE TREAD ON AND CAN STILL BE INFLATED. IT WAS REMOVED FROM THE RIM FOR INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT. NO INTERNAL DAMAGE OR CRACKS WAS FOUND INSIDE, BUT THERE ARE CRACKS IN THE TREAD THAT INDICATES THAT THE TREAD WILL SEPARATE FROM THE TIRE. ARE THEY TRYING TO HURT OR KILL ME AND MY PASSENGERS? WHAT CAN I EXPECT NHTSA AND BF GOODRICH (MICHELIN) TO DO IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR TIRES?

ON OCTOBER 16, 2014 MY TRUCK WAS DAMAGED DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION ON A BF GOODRICH ? ALL TERRAIN T/A KO, LT 285 / 65R20 TIRE (DOT BE3F UH11 0912), SOLD BY DISCOUNT TIRE COMPANY IN ODESSA, TX. MY TRUCK IS A BLACK 2012 FORD, F-350 SUPER DUTY, FX4, LARIAT 1. WHILE DRIVING ON I-10 TRAVELING EAST AT 67 MPH I FELT A SUDDEN BUMPING OF ONE OF MY TIRES AS I REDUCED MY SPEED THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND WRAPPED AROUND THE REAR AXLE OF MY TRUCK CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY TRUCK. THE TIRE WAS STILL INFLATED AND I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. BUT THE DAMAGE WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE TRUCK HAD TO BE TOWED. 2. THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW OUT, IT STAYED INFLATED UNTIL IT WAS REMOVED FROM THE WHEEL (RIM) BY THE BODY SHOP TO BE REPLACED. 3. THE TIRE AND TREAD WAS TAKEN TO DISCOUNT TIRE (AS REQUESTED BY AAA) TO BE SHIPPED TO MICHELIN FOR EXAMINATION, BUT WAS DESTROYED BY DISCOUNT TIRE (MR. DOUG MCCOLLUM - STORE MANAGER TXH 34).
