TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE POWER OF STEERING FAILED AND AS A RESULT THE STEERING SHAFT BROKE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT DUE TO THE FAILURE HE WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO SNOW BANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. RESULTING A ROLL OVER AND TAKING OUT A 14 INCH PINE TREE AND LANDING ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE WHEN IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE! THE AIR BAGS IN THE PICK- UP DID NOT DEPLOY !

THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS IN 2005 AND COMPLETELY DETACHED AND THE SECOND TIME, IN 2006, AFTER VIEWING THE WHEEL THE CONTACT OBSERVED CRACKS IN THE WHEEL.
