Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2022 F-250 is power train with 17 filings, followed by engine (14) and electrical system (11). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability.

NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2022 F-250, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. 20260119ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Vehicle: 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Component: Door latch / door ajar sensor system This complaint concerns a latent manufacturing defect involving the door latch / door ajar sensor system on a 2022 Ford F-250. The defect causes the vehicle to falsely indicate that doors are open when they are fully closed, triggering alarms and safety warnings and impairing normal vehicle operation. This failure was detectable during the warranty period and manifested shortly after expiration of the bumper-to-bumper warranty, consistent with a latent defect rather than wear or maintenance. The same defect has occurred on multiple Ford vehicles purchased by the same family, including an identical repair performed on another Ford truck for the same door latch sensor failure. This demonstrates a patterned manufacturing issue, not an isolated incident. Numerous owner reports document this same failure mode on 2022 Ford F-250 vehicles, frequently occurring immediately following warranty expiration. Th

NHTSA recall 24v455 - possible fuel pump failure can result in engine stall which increases the risk of crash. This recall has been open since July 2025 with no action or reasonable fix or repair from Ford putting myself and family in danger.

Subject: Safety Recall 24V-957 – Loss of Power Risk – Dealer Mishandling I am filing a complaint regarding Ford recall 24V-957 (Ford reference 24S78) for my vehicle. The recall states the defect can cause: “Loss of driving power, increasing the risk of a crash” “Engine stall” “Loss of motive power while driving” My vehicle has shown symptoms consistent with these safety risks. When I brought the vehicle to the dealership: 1. They claimed fuel contamination but provided a fuel sample with a Dec 3 timestamp, even though they originally claimed the issue was discovered on Nov 26, raising chain-of-custody concerns. 2. They have refused to properly address the recall or escalate the matter. 3. They threatened to report my rental car as stolen, even though I have not refused to return it and the vehicle is still under an unresolved recall safety issue. 4. Ford Customer Care refuses to intervene and instructs me to deal only with the dealership, despite this bei

20251108POWER TRAIN

October 2024 (while out of state vacation): The transmission violently downshifted upon moderate acceleration such that truck lurched with a loud bang, went into limp safe mode in traffic, with no rear warning because brakes were not applied. I was able to shut the vehicle off and restart, and able to engage the transmission, though engagement remained harsh. No Check Engine Lights were illuminated. Upon return home, I got the truck to local dealer service center. They had the truck for a week and said they could not determine a cause or problem...no scanner codes recorded? Their tech could not duplicate. From October 2024 until June 2025, this same behavior occurred 2-4 times, all without CELs. June 2025: Truck taken to local dealership with symptom list, only now occurring more frequently. At my insistence, I asked the dealer to involve Ford Engineering, to diagnose, and to compel Ford to honor the active full warranty still in place. This unresolved issue began October 2024. The d

thank you for a response the issue is the vehicle is making a cluck noise when turning i took it to a ford dealer mind you i paid 2 thousand dollars for an extended warranty from ford they put the truck on a lift and said there was nothing wrong i instructed them to drive it and they did agree there was a clunck noise and dismissed it as an axle shift with a co worker moving the steering wheel i heard the clucling and noticed the joint at the pitman arm moving up and down what is the point and when does ford decide that it is bad as a commercial vehicle inspector for the state of ma. there should be no play in joints this truck steering could fail as with other ones out on the roads because ford and its dealers are dismissing complaint and its not fair or resonable that they should even question steering issues please for the safety of all look into ther ford steering center link failures and hold them accontable to take care of these issues thank you sincerly [XXX] INFORMATION RE

The failed component is a lifter/camshaft. Luckily I was attentive to my vehicle and noticed a ticking noise within the engine and took it to a dealer for diagnosis. An engine failure while traveling at highway speeds could be a disastrous to occupants and others around them. This appears to be a common problem with the 7.3l engine. The check engine light illuminated after i noticed the ticking noise.

20251017VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Intermittent delay in throttle response. Sometimes the delay is nonexistent or nearly imperceptible, other times the delay can be 2 seconds or more. Is very dangerous when trying to merge with flowing traffic. Occurs most often with the steering wheels turned and accelerating from stop, but has happened while driving straight at freeway speeds. Turning off traction control seems to mitigate but not entirely eliminate the issue.
