Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 1999 N/A Ford F-250. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 176,369. The contact stated that the odometer was inoperable. The contact stated that the odometer only operated while the 4WD feature was activated. Upon further investigation, the contact became aware that when the previous owner purchased the vehicle in 2023, the mileage was 167,697. The correct odometer reading was unknown.

The contact stated that fuel spewed out of the rear tank filler neck. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer refused to perform the recall repair. The contact was informed that the recall repair pertained only to the chassis and not light-duty trucks. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

The contact owns a 1994 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while renewing the registration, the contact was informed of an open, unrepaired recall associated with the VIN. The unrepaired open recall was NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V399000 (Vehicle Speed Control). The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer declined to perform the recall repair because the VIN was not in the Manufacturer’s Database. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer located the VIN information in the database and the contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Left front tire blew without warning, lost control of truck and trailer and crossed the median into oncoming interstate traffic. Stearing link on truck broke, not sure when. Truck and trailer were totaled. LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW WHILE PARKED A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER. No visible defects. I have attached two pictures of the left front tire taken at the scene of the accident and three pictures of the left rear tire taken as it failed in two stages, first a bulge in the tread, followed a few weeks later by a zipper-like sidewall separation. Tires were less than 10 years old when they failed. I still have the tires as well as the other two matching tires from the set. The accident occurred in Bath NY. Michelin LT235/85R16

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER HIS VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER INADVERTENTLY SHIFTED INTO REVERSE CAUSING THE DOOR TO KNOCK THE CONTACT DOWN TO THE GROUND WHERE THE CONTACT WAS RAN OVER BY THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED BROKEN RIBS, TWO FRACTURED VERTEBRAE IN THE NECK, A PARTIALLY SEVERED RIGHT EAR, AND AN UNSTATED INJURY TO HIS LEGS. THE VEHICLE THEN PROCEEDED TO ROLL DOWN A SLIGHT HILL AND CAME TO A STOP AFTER CRASHING INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE ARRIVED TO THE SCENE AND THE AMBULANCE TOOK THE CONTACT TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT TO HIS INJURIES. THE CONTACT WANTED TO STAY THAT HE WAS ON LIFE SUPPORT FOR TWO WEEKS AND ON A FEEDING TUBE FOR A FEW WEEKS. THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND LATER SENT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 295,000.

BRACKETS HOLDING FUEL TANKS HAVE CORRODED ALLOWING THE FUEL TANK TO DROP. I NOTICED IT WHEN I PARKED MY TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I HAVE SINCE PUT A CHAIN AROUND TO TRY TO PREVENT IT FROM DROPPING ENTIRELY AND EXPLODING.

WE HAD JUST HAD NEW FIRESTONE TRANSFORCE HT TIRES PUT ON OUR TRUCK. APPROXIMATELY FOUR MONTHS LATER, AS WE ARE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, WE FELT A SERIOUS VIBRATION IN THE LEFT REAR TIRE. WE SLOWED DOWN TO 60 MPH & THAT'S WHEN THE TIRE BLEW OUT. WE PULLED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY TO INSPECT & THE TIRE BLEW OUT THE SIDEWALL. WE DID NOT HIT ANYTHING & NO ROAD HAZARD CAUSED THIS DAMAGE. WE SIMPLY FELT AS A SERIOUS VIBRATION & WITHIN A HALF A MILE OR MILE IT BLEW OUT. THE SHOP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE TIRES CHARGED US FOR ANOTHER TIRE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY BUT WE WENT AHEAD AND PAID FOR IT BECAUSE WE NEEDED THE VEHICLE FOR WORK. IT CONTINUED TO HAVE SEVERE VIBRATIONS WHICH CAUSE DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VEHICLE IN ACCELERATION & IN BRAKING. SO WE HAD EVERYTHING REPLACED ON THE FRONT END. AFTER THIS, THE TRUCK STILL FELT UNSTABLE...THE VIBRATION WAS STILL THERE AND IT WAS STILL DIFFICULT TO STEER.. IT ALSO HAD A TENDENCY TO PULL FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER
