When put into drive, vehicle unexpectedly accelerated. Could not control or stop the vehicle. The vehicle is no longer available for inspection. The inability to stop the vehicle put myself and other drivers and pedestrians at extreme risk. I am not aware if the vehicle was inspected for cause after the incident. No warnings or symptoms presented themselves at the time of the incident.

Both side airbags deployed with a small damage accident where the vehicle hit a concrete barrier at a low rate of speed. Body shop professionals stated that this deployment should not have happened with the damage to the back bumper corner of the f150 truck. The vehicle was placed in 4 wheel drive (high range) and operated normally. Stopped the vehicle and placed it back into 2 wheel drive (indicated on dashboard as in 2 wheel drive). Placed transmission setting into "Park" but did not apply emergency brake. Turned off engine and exited vehicle. Vehicle proceeded to roll backwards down a slight hill until it crashed into tree (damage was limited to body panel). Driving at 5 mph in traffic. Truck suddenly pulls hard right and involved in a glancing blow to a vehicle next to me. Steering wheel then was able to wobble loosely in 3 dimensions with no effect on tire direction. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY - I TURNED IT ON TO WARM UP AND TURNED ON THE REAR DEFROSTER. WITHIN A FEW MINS, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AND THERE IS A BURN MARK AND MELTING OF THE TRIM IN THE BOTTOM CORNER OF THE WINDOW WHERE THE DEFROSTER WIRING/SENSOR IS LOCATED.

I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN IN MY 2010 FORD F150 PLATINUM. IT HAD SNOWED THE NIGHT BEFORE SO I HAD CLEANED THE WINDOWS AND TURNED ON THE DEFROSTER, INCLUDING THE REAR DEFROSTER. I WAS RUNNING THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT 15 MIN WHEN THE REAR WINDOW STARTED TO SMOKE AND A SMALL FIRE, BURNING OCCURRED BEFORE THE GLASS IN THE RUBBER SEAL (OUTSIDE). MY SON WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK WITH MY OLDER SON ALSO IN THE CAB. MY SON THAT WAS DRIVING NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK WAS LOSING SPEED AND THAT NOTHING WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR. HE PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND SMOKE BEGAN FILLING THE CAB. THEY GOT OUT OF THE TRUCK IN A HURRY AND RAN. THE TRUCK EXPLODED 3 SECONDS LATER AND BURNED COMPLETELY. OUR 2010 FORD F-150 PLATINUM TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HE HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR TO SURVIVE. IT LOOKS LIKE THE GAS TANK CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THE ENTIRE TRUCK WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND COMPLETELY BURNED UP IN A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE BURNED OUT TRUCK AND A VIDEO OF THE LAST PART OF THE FIRE.
