New Car Assessment Program

The 2007FORDEDGE carries 1237 consumer safety complaints in NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation database for this specific model-year cohort. Within that volume, owners reported 22 crashes, 31 fires, 41 injuries, and 0 fatalities. No NCAP 5-star crash-test rating is available for this model year in the federal database.

Component-level analysis is where model-year complaints become actionable: the top complaint category for the 2007 EDGE is air bags with 328 filings, followed by power train (167) and fuel/propulsion system (103). Concentration in one or two component groups is the classic signature of a systemic defect; a flat distribution usually reflects normal aging, warranty complaints, or isolated build-plant variability. This model year has 6 active recall campaigns, which means the manufacturer is obligated to remedy the covered defect at no charge for the life of the vehicle — the full NHTSA campaign numbers are listed below.

NHTSA currently has 177 investigation files overlapping the 2007 EDGE, and 8 remain open. Owners comparing this cohort against neighboring years should pair the counters above with the complaint-by-year trend on the parent model page — a spike in a single year often tracks to a platform refresh, a new transmission supplier, or an updated ECU calibration. Use the related-complaint feed below to read raw owner narratives before deciding whether any pattern here affects your specific use case.

My question is I’m getting ready to buy a 2007 Ford edge for my mother and she’s already put three water pumps on this car and it cost like almost 1000 bucks to do it every time. I don’t even know if it’s worth it but I was just wondering if there’s any recalls on something like that or if it’s something wrong with why it keeps going keeps messing up

# 1. Brakes - There is a known brake issue with these vehicles. The brakes started making a loud hissing noise and we were almost unable to stop the vehicle and ended up in the middle of an intersection. This could have caused an accident and needs to be recalled. There was no warning, messages, or signs before this happened. These are the parts the repair shop and Ford dealership said needed to be replaced: Power Brake Booster, Hydraulic Control Unit, and Master Cylinder. #2 - Transmission - The car began to shake when trying to climb up a small hill and it also started to shake on the interstate. There were no warnings or messages that appeared.

20231106ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

My 2007 Ford Edge lost the use of my accelerometer pedal without any warning, while driving. The pedal collapsed to the floor. The engine continued to run. A wrench image appeared on the dashboard. After towing to service station the gas pedal worked again. No codes could be determined during TWO diagnostic procedures. After the first mechanics could not determine or diagnose a problem, nor replicate the problem, I had it towed to my local Ford Dealership. Their diagnosis claimed no indication of an issue on their diagnostic computer either. I’m afraid to drive my car. P0301 misfire in the engine and P0201 fuel injecter both should be recalled on all 2007 Ford edges as me and another lady both wrecked hitting a small poles and the business owners was nice and said to make it home safely since there was no damage. I have done plenty of research and Ford is refusing to do any recalls on the spark plugs in the engine and the fuel injecter. Please recalls those so no one gets seriously hurt from it.

20231014SERVICE BRAKES

My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.
