THE ENGINE CUTS OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS (60 MPH). THE VEHICLE LURCHES AS A RESULT. LUCKILY, THE ENGINE STARTS UP AGAIN WITHOUT NEEDING TO CRANK AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDS. ON ONE OCCASION, WHEN DRIVING AT SLOWER SPEED (25 MPH), THE VEHICLE STALLED. I LOST THE POWER STEERING, AND HAD TO STOP AND RESTART THE IGNITION USING THE KEY. *JB
DT: CONSUMER OWNS A 1993 EAGLE VISION. CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 99V215000 ABOUT A YEAR AGO CONCERNING LOWER CONTROL ARM. HE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TO GET REPAIRS DONE . DEALER DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO VEHICLE AND CHARGED HIM $1020 FOR REPAIRS. HE TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER ON AUGUST 3, 2005 BECAUSE IT STARTED SHAKING AGAIN. THEY DID NOT DO ANY REPAIRS. HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER. *AK *JB
CAMPAIGNS 98V184000 AND 98V130000 CONCERN FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE 1993 EAGLE VISION. ON MAY 13, 1999 THE O RINGS WERE REPLACED ON MY EAGLE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. ON MARCH 31, 2000, AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR I HAD TO TAKE MY CARE IN TO A GARAGE DUE TO THE STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. THE REPAIR SHOP FOUND A GAS LEAK. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL RAIL GASKET WHICH COST A TOTAL OF $214.02. I BELIEVE THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY THE LEAKAGE OF THE O RINGS. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL RAIL GASKET SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER CAMPAIGN NO. 98V130000. I AM REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE $214.02. ALSO, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING ALSE I SHOULD DO TO MAKE THE CAR SAFER SUCH AS HAVING THE ENGINE FUEL RAIL REPLACED, WHICH IT APPEARS WASN'T DONE WHEN THE O RINGS WERE REPLACED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER.

NEARLY EVERY TIME THAT FRON TTIRES ARE REMOVED, A STUD BREAKS OFF. I M SURE TO INFORM THE SERVIC EPROVIDER NOT TO USE AN AIR WRENCH AND TO HAND TORQUE THE LUG NUTS. *AK

REFERENCE NHTSA 98V184000/CHRYSLER RECALL 790. 1) 1 INCIDENT OF RECALL NOTICE AND ATTEMPTED RECALL SERVICE. AFTER RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED ON MARCH 18 1999 THERE WERE 2 INCIDENTS OF FUEL RAIL/O-RING LEAK CONFIRMED AS FOLLOWS: 2) RIGHT (PASSENGER) SIDE FUEL RAIL CRACKED AND LEAKED (OCTOBER 17 2002) 3) LEFT (DRIVER) SIDE FUEL INLET LINE O-RING FAILED AND LEAKED (APRIL 13 2004). CUSTOMER WAS MADE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS OF 3RD INCIDENT FOR $583.00 TO REPLACE ENTIRE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY CHRYSLER PART NUMBER 5015231AA. INSPECTION OF PARTS RETURNED TO CUSTOMER SHOW THAT FUEL INLET O-RING IS DEFECTIVE (HARDENED AND SHRUNKEN) AND IS BLACK IN COLOR (RECALL REPLACEMENT O-RING IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLUE IN COLOR). IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT 2ND INCIDENT OF FUEL LEAK WAS DUE TO RECALL SERVICE REPAIR OF MARCH 18 1999 NOT PROPERLY PERFORMED AS FUEL INLET O-RING WAS NEVER REPLACED (VILLAGE MOTORS CHEL

NOTE: ROOT CAUSE OF FUEL LEAK IS THAT THE FUEL INJECTION RAIL IS MADE OF A PLASTIC WHICH EVENTUALLY SHRINKS OR CRACKS.

FOR MANY YEARS I HAVE BEEN BAFFELD WITH A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. I HAVE REPLACED THE ENTIRE FRONT. THESE ARE THE PARTS I HAVE REPLACED BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS, BOTH INER AND OUTER TIERODS, BOTH UPPER STRUT MOUNTS/STRUTS, STABILIZER BAR LINKS, BOTH DRIVESHAFTS, BOTH FONT WHEEL BEARINGS. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION AS A LAST RESORT LOOKED AT THE RACK AND PINION UNIT AND DISCOVERED THAT THE CROSSMEMBER THAT THE RACK AND PINION UNIT IS MOUNTED TO IS MOVING WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT. IT'S MY GREATAST FEAR THAT THE CROSSMEMBER THAT THE RACK AND PINION IS MOUNTED TO WILL BREAK AWAY FROM THE BODY OF THE CAR, RESULTING IN A LOSS OF STEERING CAUSING A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT OR WORSE A LOSS OF LIFE. THE CROSSMEMBER IS THE FOUNDATION POINT OR PLATFORM WHERE THE RACK AND PINION IS MOUNTED TO. THIS CROSSMEMBER SHOULD BE A RELIABLE AND SAFE MOUNTING POINT FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. *AK

THE "AIR BAG" LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. AFTER A MINUTE, THE INSTRUMENTS WORK FINE. THE RPOBLEM REPEATS FOR THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE DRIVE.
