I HAVE A 95 EAGLE TALON TSI AND I HAVE A TRANSFER CASE NOISE AND LEAKY TRANSFER CASE IT IS PART OF THE TRANSFER CASE RECALL 780. CHRYSLER SAYS THE RECALL IS ONE TIME ONLY EVERYTHING I HAVE READ SAYS SAFETY RECALLS ARE FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. I CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO SUCH RECALL. I AM AFRAID IT IS GOING TO LOCK UP AFTER READING ABOUT IT ONLINE

1995 EAGLE TALON TSI AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. HERE'S HOW... I WASN'T EVEN MOVING AND WENT INTO THE CAR WASH AND NOTHING HAPPENED CAR DIDN'T EVEN MOVE. IT WILL START IN PARK AND NEUTRAL. BUT WILL NOT GO IN GEAR. NO SOUND WAS MADE I WAS GOING IN THE CAR WASH AND WENT TO PUSH ON THE GAS AND CAR DID NOT GO ANYWHERE. SO THE EMPLOYEE'S THERE HAD TO PUSH IT THROUGH THE CAR WASH. WILL NOT SHIFT AT ALL. FLUID LEVEL IS GOOD AND CLEAN HAS BEEN SERVED BEFORE BUT WHY DID IT GO OUT. I'VE CHECK EVERYTHING. BY THE WAY IM CERTIFIED IN AUTOMOTIVES BOTH GAS AND DIESEL. SO I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. SO THE RECALL SHOULD COVER IT.... IT BETTER. IT WOULD COST ME OVER $1800.00 TO FIX IT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 EAGLE TALON. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN FRONT DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE WHEEL TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AXLE AND BALL JOINTS WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE AXLE AND BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ONE DAY WHEN I MADE A LEFT TURN MY RPM'S WENT DOWN FROM ABOUT 3000 TO 1400 AND I HAD PROBLEMS ENGAGING THE CLUTCH. WHEN I GOT HOME, I WENT ONLINE AND STARTED MY RESEARCH ON MY VEHICLE. I FOUND OUT THAT I COULD POSSIBLY BE THE CRANK PULLEY. MY VEHICLE IS 15 YEARS OLD AND I KNOW THAT, BUT WHEN I RESEARCH THE RECALLS ON IT, THERE WERE 14 SAFETY RECALLS. WHILE I DON'T WANT THE CAR TO LOCK UP ON ME DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS I HAVE TO FIX THAT BUT IN THIS DAY AND AGE, HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO PAY FOR ALL THE DEFECTS? I CERTAINLY CAN'T AFFORD ALL THE REPAIRS AND LIVING IN A RURAL AREA WHERE I HAVE NO CO-WORKERS LIVING BY ME HOW DO I DO THE REPAIRS AND STAY WITHOUT A CAR AND KEEP MY JOB. I DID WHAT I THOUGHT ALMOST EVERYONE DOES AND CHECKED A CARFAX REPORT BUT THAT DOESN'T SHOE THE RECALLS. I WISH I WAS AWARE OF THAT BUT NOW I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A TIMEBOMB WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN. DO ANY DEALERSHIPS SEE THIS AND FIX THEM AFTER 10 + YEARS JUST FOR SOMEONE'S SAFETY?

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 EAGLE TALON. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED TO THE GROUND. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT FAILED. THE MECHANIC MADE THE REPLACEMENT. APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT HEARD A SCREECHING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT SHOULD BE REPLACED. AS OF NOVEMBER 13, 2007, THE MECHANIC HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SUSPENSION: FRONT: CONTROL ARM: LOWER BALL JOINT (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V421002); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,895.

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

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WAS SMOKING. CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE BLEW UP. *TS THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE WARRANTY COMPANY CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT LIABLE. THE CONSUMER DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN DONE ON 8/98 BUT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THE CONSUMER ANY DOCUMENTATION. *NM
I OWN A 95 EAGLE TALON AND BROUGHT IT TO PRO JEEP EAGLE IN EARLY SUMMER. THE STAFF REPLACED THE DRIVERS SIDE BUT STATED THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS NOT IN NEED FOR REPLACEMENT. I DISAGREED. THIS MORNING AS I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND INTO THE STREET, BEFORE GETTING 100 FEET MY FRONT END FELL TO THE GROUND. THE BALL JOINT BROKE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE, AGAIN I DISAGREED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A WRONGFUL DEATH. THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THE CONSUMER PULLED OFF THE ROAD, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THERE WAS A PART THAT CAME OFF OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS LATER FOUND THAT THE TRANSFER CASE FELL OUT, WHICH CAUSED OTHER DAMAGE AND LOW LEVEL OF OIL, EVEN THOUGH THE FLUID LEVEL WAS CHECKED PRIOR. THE MANUFACTURER TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR EVALUATION. AFTER THE EVALUATION, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THIS WASN'T THE PROBLEM.
