WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE WAS SMOKING. CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE BLEW UP. *TS THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE WARRANTY COMPANY CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT LIABLE. THE CONSUMER DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN DONE ON 8/98 BUT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE THE CONSUMER ANY DOCUMENTATION. *NM
PURCHASED TIRE FROM SEARS 16 DAYS EARLIER, HAD A BLOW OUT OF THE SIDEWALL WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
TWO YEARS AGO LOWER LATERAL ARM BALL JOINT WAS REPLACED UNDER A RECALL. ON 11/29/2003, THE LOWER LATERAL ARM BALL JOINT SEPARATED, CAUSING THE LEFT FRONT TIRE TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. *AK

I OWNED A 1995 EAGLE TALON THAT I TOOK IN TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER TO INSPECT A BALL JOINT RECALL AND INSPECT A BELT. THEY SAID THE BALL JOINT WAS OK AND FIXED THE BELT PROBLEM. ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER I WAS TURNING INTO A GAS STATION AND THE VEHICLES BALL JOINT FELL OFF. IM NOT SURE OF THE DATE OF INCIDENT SOP I ENTERED A GENERIC DATE. I SOLD THE VEHICLE OVER A YEAR AGO BUT I FORGOT TO SUBMIT THIS INVESTIGATION TO YOUR DEPT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BECAUSE THERE MECHANICS DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR CURRENT RECALL ON BALL JOINT BOOT ON 3/16/01. DEALER REPORTED PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND COULD TAKE UP TO ONE YEAR TO GET PART. I DONT FEEL THE RECALL LETTER READS INDICATES THE URGENCY NOR THE SERIOUSNESS OF NOT GETTING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. AS OF 3/16/01 THE LEFT BALL JOINT HAD NO PROBLEM WITH BOOT WHEN INSPECTED ALTHOUGH THE RIGHT BOOT HAD CRACKED. THE LEFT BALL JOINT WAS THE ONE THAT SEPARATED CAUSING THE ACCIDENT. CONSUMER TOOK AUTOMOBILE TO DEARLER FOR RECALL REPAIRS, AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE. NO RECALL WAS CHECKED OR REPAIRED. LATER ON, SUSPENSION FAILED, AND HAD AN ACCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. NO INJURIES. *AK

NO DEPLOYMENT OF DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DURING A COLLISION, RESULTING IN INJURIES. ALSO EXTENSIVE DAMAGE.
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY IT CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. OWNER WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT FIRE WITHIN A FEW SECONDS. OWNER ALSO REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER LINE. PART NUMBER MR126409. *AK
VEHICLE STARTED LEAKING GAS BETWEEN THE CONNECTION OF THE FUEL LINE AND FUEL TANK AND CAUGHT FIRE. PREVIOUS WORK HAD BEEN DONE ON THE VEHICLE TO CORRECT A FUEL LEAK UNDER A RECALL.
