RECALL FOR MOTORIZED SHOULDER BELTS, INSTALLED GUID RUN AND SWITCHES. DEALER MADE 2 ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR L. F. MOTORIZED SEAT BELT. KEPT VEHICLE FOR 5 WEEKS THE FIRST TIME. BELT NEVER HAS WORKED AFTER ATTEMPTED REPAIRS/RECALL. *BF

I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 1993 EAGLE SUMIT, PURCHASED IN DOVER DE. WITHIN IN THE FIRS TWO YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE SEAT BELT HARNESS WAS RECALLED BY THE MANUFACURE. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL. OVER THE YEARS THE SEAT BELT HARNESS HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY, OFTEN STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT OR HAVIGN A SLIPPING ACTION WHILE IN THE BELT WHEN STOPPING. THE SEAT BELT HARNESS RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING COMPLETLY.TTHE SEAT BELT HARNESS WAS CONSIDERED TO BE A SAFETY PROBEM NOTED AT MY RECENT RE-INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE TO INQUIRE ABOUT REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT OF THE RECALLED SEATBELT HARNESS. AND AND ANY WARRANTY/GUARNTEE OF THE CURRENT RECALLED SEAT BELT.THE DEALERSHIP'S CURREN MANAGER STATED THAT CHRYLSER DOES NOT REINBURSE FOR RECALL PARTS IN VEHICLES THIS OLD. ON THE INTERNET, I FOUND WHERE MY CAR HAD A RECALL IN 1998 FOR THE POWER TRAIN TRANSMISSION AUTOMATIC. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF THIS RECALL. OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS, I HAVE BEEN HAVING OIL LEAKS. I HAD A HEAD GASKET REPLACED IN LATE 1999. I HAD AN OIL LEAK AGAIN THIS YEAR, IN MARCH 2001. THEY HAD TO REPAIR THE OIL DRAIN PLUG. THEN IN MAY 2001, I HAD TO GET THE MAIN SEAL VALVE FIXED. LATE JULY 2001, THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. NOW APPARENTLY THE OIL IS BURNING INSIDE THE ENGINE. IF THIS RECALL HAD BEEN DONE ON MY CAR, COULD THIS HAVE BEEN PREVENTED? CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK FOR THE MONEY THAT I HAVE SPENT, IF IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE AS PART OF THE RECALL? I'M NOW AT THE POINT WHERE I HAVE TO HAVE OIL CHANGES EVERY TWO MONTHS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE CAR UNTIL I CAN AFFORD A NEW ONE. ANY ASSISTANCE, WILL BE GREAT.

THE DEALER REMOVED THE SHOULDER BELT SYSTEM AND TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT THE PROPER PART HAD TO BE ORDERED, SEVERAL MONTHS PASSED AND THE PART HAD NOT ARRIVED, ONCE THE PARTS ARRIVED THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE MOTOR ASSEMBLY WAS BROKEN AND HAD TO REPAIRED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE ($1000) BEFORE SEATBELT RECALL COULD BE PERFORMED.
