AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY TOOK OFF FULL THROTTLE CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN BEFORE ANY DAMAGE COULD BE DONE TO MY ENGINE OR OTHER VEHICLES, AND I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME. DODGE HAS A RECALL (#605), FOR THE EXACT SYMPTOMS I WAS EXPERIENCING, THOUGH MY INJECTION PUMP DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE DATE CODE. I TOOK MY INJECTION PUMP INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I THEN TOOK APART THE INJECTION PUMP AND FOUND THAT THE FULCRUM LEVER, THE SAME PIECE THAT CAUSED THE RECALL FOR RECALL #605, HAD INDEED BROKEN SENDING TINY BITS OF METAL THROUGHOUT MY INJECTION PUMP CAUSING THE RUNAWAY. I FEEL THAT DODGE IS RESPONSIBLE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE PARTS THAT WERE BROKEN, AND SHOULD ALSO EXTEND THE RECALL TO ALL CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINES EQUIPPED WITH THE VE PUMP. *TR
