ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, THE SCREW BOLTS OF THE FUEL TANK FASTENING STRAPS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED CORRECTLY. AFTER NORMAL PRODUCTION PROCESS, THE VEHICLES ARE DISASSEMBED FOR SHIPMENT TO THE US AND THE BOLTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY TIGHTENED WHEN RE-ASSEMBLED.

ON CERTAIN UTILITY VANS, THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR IN CERTAIN DIESEL ENGINES COULD FAIL DUE TO SEPARATION OF BOND WIRES FROM THE LEAD FRAME IN THE SENSOR. THIS RESULTS IN AN INTERRUPTION IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE CHIP HOUSING OF THE SENSOR.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Sprinter 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V077000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. WHILE IN MOTION THE VEHICLES WIPER MOTOR STOPPED WORKING. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS HAD FAILED AND SEVERAL ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS HAD MELTED AWAY THEIR PROTECTIVE COATING CAUSING SEVERAL SYSTEMS TO SHORT OUT AND STOP WORKING. THIS ALSO CAUSED THE WIPER MOTOR TO PREMATURELY FAIL. WIPER MOTOR WAS REPLACED HOPING THAT IT WOULD STILL WORK AFTER THE EXPOSED WIRING WAS CUT BACK AND NEW WIRING WAS SPLICED IN. HOWEVER THE WIRING HARNESS CONTINUED TO WEAR DOWN AND THE WIPER MOTOR ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT HAS COMPLETELY SHORTED OUT.

I NEEDED THE SPRINTER BACK SO I WENT TO COLORADO AND WHEN I GOT BACK, I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY. WHAT THEY TOLD ME WAS THAT THEY NEED A DIFFERENT (NEW) WIRING HARNESS AND THAT IS UNAVAILABLE.
