UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ABOVE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 99V024000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:SWITCH). CONSUMER CONTACTED MANUFACTURER TO VERIFY IF MANUFACTURER'S RECALL 722 REPAIRS WERE DONE. MANUFACTURER INSISTED THAT REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED BUT THEY HAD NO RECORDS OF IT DONE. VEHICLE WAS THEN INVOLVED IN A FIRE WHICH WAS CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION COOLING UNIT AND LINE QUICK CONNECTION MELTING . THERE WERE NO INJURIES.*AK

CHRYSLER IS SENDING ME RECALL NOTICES THAT ARE ANYWHERE FROM 1 1/2 YRS OLD TO 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE FIRE, AND THEY ARE COMING IN THE MAIL NOW, ALMOST 4 MONTHS AFTER THE FIRE. CHRYSLER WILL NOT ADMIT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FIRE, EVEN WHILE SENDING ME RECALLS THIS LATE AFTER THE FIRE. *AK
TRUCK BURNED APROX. 45 MINUTES AFTER SHUTTING DOWN IN MY DRIVEWAY.
RIGHT REAR OUTER TIRE OF DODGE DUALLY SEPERATED AND EXPLODED AT 45 MPH CAUSING $2500 IN DAMAGE. SECOND TIRE, LEFT REAR OUTER, PARTIALLY SEPERATED AT 65 MPH CAUSING $500 IN DAMAGE. REMAINING TIRES REMOVED AND THE THIRD TIRE WAS FOUND TO BE SEPERATING BADLY ALSO. I HAVE TWO OF THE THREE FAILED TIRES, PLUS THE FOURTH. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL, BUT NO RESPONSE.
BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO GO TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WAS NO BRAKING ABILITY WHICH CAUSED A CRASH. DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER 3 TIMES. PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

SPARE TIRE IS SUPPORTED BY A STEEL CABLE CONNECTED TO A HAND WINCH. UPON RAISING SPARE TIRE, IT WILL NOT LIFT UP DIRECTLY TO THE STOWED POSITION, BUT WILL HANG AGAINST TAIL PIPE. OPERATOR LAYED UNDER VEHICLE TO ALIGN THE TIRE AND CLEAR TAIL PIPE. CABLE BECAME SLACK AND CABLE RETAINER PLATE BECAME DETACHED, ALLOWING THE SPARE WHEEL TO FALL FREE, STRIKING THE OPERATOE IN THE FACE. HITTING WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO CAUSE THE EYE GLASSES TO CUT THE SKIN BELOW LEFT EYE, REQUIRING STICHES AT LOCAL EMERGENC
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING PITMAN ARM THAT CONNECTS THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP CAME OFF. DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK AND SIDE SWIPED TWO PARKED CARS. THE STEERING ARM HAS BEEN REPLACED. *AK
